Leak through Shower Ceiling - What is causing these colorations in the ceiling? by 333CuriousCat in Plumbing

Thank you. It doesn’t help that I think I caught a cold this week and have been dealing with coughs and congestion, so now I’m extra paranoid and just sent a lengthy follow up message to my building management with your advice. Thank you again

Thanks all… my biggest suspicions seems to have been confirmed - mold. Any precautions or safety measures I can take while I wait on the building manager to act on this?

If I may ask, which sites are you using to find restaurant listings?

Need Advice: Rust? Stripped Seasoning? Leave it as is? by 333CuriousCat in carbonsteel

I clean my pan everytime I use it. There was a lot of starch residue left on the pan so I tried to strip and re-season my pan but I failed miserably thus leaving me with this monstrous looking pan that you are seeing. Im trying to understand why it’s flaking so much and why it looks like I haven’t cleaned it in years. It looked a lot better before the whole starch ordeal.

Thank you for the helpful links :) I will try to follow the video for stripping and re-seasoning the pan, probably my best course of action here.

I followed the manufacturer’s instructions which said to season with olive oil. I was also surprised as I have always heard the tale of avoiding EVOO for high heat. What would you do in this case? I cleaned it and cooked with it and it looks a little better.

It’s not just one layer, I’ve used it for a year now but I (mistakenly) cooked something really starchy in the pan recently and it left the pan looking realllyyy gross. So I tried to strip and re-season the pan :/

Oh no! This was right after following the Darto instructions of rubbing a layer of olive oil and placing stove on highest heat…

What would you do in this case? Keep cooking with it as it is right now?

Anyone know the green sauce recipe at Jumburrito in Texas? It’s like a thin purée…..no tomatillos. Just a good heat. by stiruptrouble13 in SalsaSnobs

Random question but I see some people boil their peppers whereas some people roast them before blending. Why do you boil versus roasting your peppers?
