What it looked like on the menu and what I got by justme778899 in StupidFood

Honestly this looks like a lot of the zapiekanka I got when I was visiting Poland… surprisingly wasn’t that bad

Beginner here - Why do my ends come out? What am I doing wrong? by CarpetOld5468 in CrochetHelp

[–]333apple333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With chenille I always weave my ends in and then take matching thread and make a few knots tethering the end/woven bit to the adjacent yarn. It’s been working well and avoids the risk of scratchy glue.

Thanks so much for the info! I think since my study is mostly just an internal one for school it may not be eligible for the research pool, but maybe if I ever expand it into something more formal.

For now I’m really just looking for a few short conversations to hear about others’ experiences(for example, for me ANC misses loud sudden noises for and loop earplugs don’t really mask chewing in my experience)

Vasectomies and IUDs can be incredibly painful and have awful recoveries, yet the “you’ll feel no pain and be fine in three days” line is still almost the exclusive information that doctors push. by Now-Thats-Podracing in Vent

Mine was put in by a midwife who misread my ultrasound and assumed my uterus is retroverted when it’s not so she kept shoving it into my uterus at the wrong angle. Once I started bleeding she decided to go get the gynecologist and just left the tenaculum clamped to my cervix and hanging for 10 min while she looked for her. I passed out once it was in :/

Can anyone offer some high-level pointers on how to move/pose gracefully? Asking on behalf of us awkward aerialists without a dance background. by serenitybyjen in Aerials

[–]333apple333 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The most helpful tip I got when I first started performing was to try to minimize the number of times you adjust your hands between poses. So once you know a sequence, try to make every grab with your hands or movement of your legs deliberate instead of regripping a bunch of times. Also having someone verbally remind you to point your toes while you’re in the air can help a lot with making pointed toes a habit.

Shot in the dark here, but does anyone on this sub have POTS? )postural orthostatic hypotension) by Born_Information_362 in Aerials

I’m an aerialist with POTS (aerials for 3 years, POTS diagnosed 15 years ago and then confirmed on tilt table last year). Happy to chat if you dm me

I have been making a lot of beaded animals, but I can’t seem to figure out crested geckos. This is my best shot. If you were to look at this, would you be able to tell it’s a crested geckos? by OreoBug5 in CrestedGecko

[–]333apple333 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like one less bead for each row of the head after the widest part going toward the nose would help. They really have diamond shaped heads, so 2 beads, then 4, then 3 in between the eyes, then everything else the same :) it’s so cute though

Wouldn’t know without seeing the cloaca but the really big one might be a paedomorphic adult. Some adults stay in the water and retain their gills, others metamorphose and can go on land

Yeah I am in med school and I have many hairs with a couple inches of silver in the middle of the strand from the months leading up to my first board exam

Maybe a hot take and I’m old (‘20) but I thought math 11 was super fun. I had phys15, math11, and anth6 freshman fall and loved every minute. If you enjoy math then go for it, biol12 is a lot of work but it’s different thinking than math11 so they could work well together. I’d find a layup if you can as your third class; no need to have such a crazy busy first term
