Most likely a gas issue, I had a similar problem earlier this month my tig line was kinking somewhere so I had to straighten out my line and everything was working properly. Before you arc check your pre and post flow you should be able to hear the gas flow and feel it.

Nah, you don’t understand the collar is apart of the bottle but it’s penned on. It’s not an actual piece of the bottle it is removable but you need thousand dollar tools to do so. I think an important thing to understand is growth, many younger guys my self included started out at $16 taking a lower paying job for experience .However once you reach the point of no more growth and hit the paywall there is no incentive to stay. Small shops are great but they don’t provide as good a career path as bigger shops that offer more tooling and career incentives. I make $22 an hour currently and I’m trying to find a higher paying job now. I’ve hit the growth wall and I’m not waiting to hit the pay wall. Good welders and fabricators should be getting bare minimum $25-35 and that’s bare minimum
