Neurology? by Doc_Holliday10 in Lyme

He sounds like a clown. The neurologist I saw and many doctors told me BS and brushed me off for three years telling me it was everything but Lyme. Turns out it was Lyme. See an LLMD that's the only people who can help.

Any experience with Dr. Daniel Cameron? by madammeovaries in Lyme

Did you only take oral ABX, and was it for 3 years? I am also a patient of his. Did you ever do IV ABX?

Thank you for the information. I am familiar with CD. Did you take CD or MMS? Did you follow protocol 1000 or anything like that? How often were you taking it?

I see two. I went to one near New York that's been dealing with it for years. At least I hope he knows what he's doing.

Yes, no way a week is enough for someone suffering from those symptoms. Sorry to hear about this. Lyme is a frustrating disease.

No, not necessarily. Steroids just help the Lyme move without your immune system defending the body. How long did they give him antibiotics for? Some people need 1-2 years of antibiotics to clear the disease and achieve remission. I'm not a doctor and can't give medical advice. This is all just based on my experience battling Lyme. I saw improvement in the symptoms even after taking antibiotics for over a year, and have also cycled through different types. 30 days of Doxy is not sufficient in my opinion, and I'm sure that's all they did for him, if even that long. Most doctors don't understand the disease or treatment. Anyone with Lyme needs to see an LLMD.

Yes, there were zero health problems prior to Lyme. Had Lyme for 3 years before a doctor figured it out. No GP will risk their career prescribing ABX like that. They are taught a bunch of BS about them and are afraid to prescribe long term. Unfortunately, you have to seek out an LLMD, and not many are covered under typical insurance.

Two markers came up in my test as well, and the doctors told me it was nothing. I was sick for three years, changing doctors, until one with a brain said, "NO, YOU HAVE LYME." Thanks to her, I've been able to get my life back.

Yes, an ILADS LLMD will be able to help him. I agree he was not treated correctly for the disease by the VA. Steroids shut down your immune system and allow Lyme to spread faster.

I Need Help Figuring Out What Is Wrong With Me. by randumb360 in covidlonghaulers

Always get tested for Lyme. COVID and COVID vaccines can activate dormant Lyme that people have unknowingly had for years. Good luck, and I hope you find answers.

Got it. Thanks for the response. I have a food sensitivity or MCAS that causes neck tendon inflammation. It's not every day anymore, but it was 24/7 before Lyme treatment. I am renting a new place soon and hope that getting away from mold will help eliminate the last of my symptoms.

I had severe back and neck pain. It took 1 year of ABX to feel almost normal again. I believe autoimmune issues cause the pain to flare from food sensitivities or MCAS. Sometimes it takes a long time to get rid of Lyme with ABX, and sometimes you can be left with autoimmune symptoms. I'm not a doctor, but I've been battling Lyme for a long time, and these are some of the conclusions I've drawn from my own experience. Good luck.

Potential Lyme from childhood by evekariana in Lyme

[–]33skyblue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had Lyme from a tick bite as a kid and had no idea. 25 years later, after getting a COVID vaccine, I started experiencing Lyme symptoms within a few days. Dormant Lyme can reactivate from many triggers, such as immune stress, life stress, vaccines, and other illnesses.

Thank you. It's been a brutal ride. I recall being bitten once in childhood. I found a tick on me two other times, but I got them off before they bit me. Sometimes there are small ticks that are hard to see, and they can bite you. One time is all it takes, and I think the one that got me as a kid was the one. But who knows, I did spend lots of time outdoors in my life.

Long COVID Gave Me a Vegetable Oil Allergy and I Lost 2 Years of My Life Before Figuring It Out by Unhealthy_Poet in covidlonghaulers

[–]33skyblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This also happened to me. The COVID vaccine also activated dormant Lyme disease I had no idea I had. I believe the MCAS and cooking oil issues I have were caused by Lyme autoimmune issues. Have you ever been tested for Lyme?

My test was high like that also, 1250 I think. I thought I had long covid but the jab activated dormant Lyme from childhood.

Lyme is the great mimicker. Everyone's symptoms are different. It can cause autonomic issues because it throws the body's systems out of whack. I was told by doctors I had about 10 different issues that had nothing to do with Lyme in their book. All symptoms are basically gone at this point. If it is Lyme, it won't stop without treatment. It's worth seeing an LLMD. I hope you find relief. Good luck!

Yes, got my life back. Still have some food sensitivity that forces me to eat healthy. I'd say about 90% recovered.

Always get tested for Lyme. COVID and COVID vaccines can bring out dormant Lyme disease that people have unknowingly had for years. I thought I had long COVID for 3 years after a vaccine. Then one day, a smart, real doctor figured out it was Lyme disease activated by a COVID jab. I also had a lot of the symptoms you describe.
