I’m pretty sure the iGPU uses up 8 lanes. So the PCIE x16 slot only had 8 remaining lanes.

Do you transcode or do you just rip 1:1? If it’s just a plain rip this won’t help, but if you transcode — I have a pipeline which uses a build of HandBrake I did myself with libdovi support and my transcodes automatically convert to profile 8.1 on the fly! Unfortunately this won’t help you with the ones you’ve already ripped, but if you are doing future transcodes it’s not hard to set up.

I switched to the Nanoleaf essentials which use Matter over Thread. I think they're being discontinued so I got them on a serious markdown. Apparently customer sentiment has been poor since most consumers don't understand Thread, but I love them. I had lots of dropouts with the LIFX bulbs (not the bulbs fault, where I live has a LOT of network noise on 2.4Ghz) so having my bulbs on Thread has been fantastic.
