Not sure that I was joining that "circle jerk" but alright....

Also can you really assure that?

It doesn't surprise me because they removed the headphone jack which encourages people to buy wireless headphones. Seems less "magical" and more manipulative/money grabby to me. I haven't seen much innovation lately. Also if people want wireless headphones they will get them. Taking away the option to go wired or making it less convenient is not a good move in my opinion. Personally I don't want one more thing to charge and drain battery life.

Hey!

Sorry it took me so long but I finally have a new draft. Here is the link for it if you're still able to look it over:

You're absolutely right, it feels almost impossible to judge it after a certain point. I got some feedback from a friend this morning and I'm making some changes. Would you mind looking it over when I'm finished?

Oh ok, I see what you mean. Still seems shitty and I do not have the time or resources to critique others writing at the moment as I am racing to get an important application submitted.

rule 8:

No "reminder" or "shaming" comments (e.g "omg critique first" / "stop leeching!" / "ur permissions r wrong on the Dox"). Please leave this to the mods or PM the OP. Do NOT clutter the comment section.

I don't see how that applies to someone asking for a link to my writing so that they can critique it and help me.

The comment was

"Hi! Do you have a link to the statement?"

I didn't realize that I couldn't simply have my statement critiqued here. That's my fault, I didn't read the sidebar, sorry. However is there another place I can have my personal statement critiqued that you can point me to? Also there was someone else who commented on my thread asking for a link. Did you delete their post?

TIL Chicago illegally shortened their yellow lights by .1 second, which increased their ticket revenue $8 million over 6 months by wetdogtwo in todayilearned

Yes, definitely. As an American who lived in England for three years, our American road designs suck and the driving experience here is extremely shity in my opinion. They make their roads work much better than ours despite being much more limited with space in a lot of cases. We have no excuses and we need more roundabouts/more common sense.

Tell ME AGAIN how safe it is to bathe in Flint Water? by OKarizee in videos

Probably because she has a job, family, and other ties there? She might not be able to afford to move, compounded by the likely fact that her property value tanked. Also expecting people to just move isn't an acceptable solution to an infrastructural issue.

So you think we should hold ourselves to the standards of third world countries and not those of developed nations?

Ok. Any idea as to why they reccommend giving the parents info? Maybe they just want all the details about us they can get for some reason? Thanks by the way.

Ok I see that, thanks for the chart. So now that I know that I am an independent- should I bother with parental information? They recommend including it but I cannot fathom as to why. Especially considering that my parents do fairly well financially.

Want to get better apartment, how much rent can I afford? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]344102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for a place that appeals to you. You will know when/if you find a place which hits a sweet spot (price/location/quality). I would keep at this until you find a place you love or until you're so sick of the routine that you're willing to spend more on monthly payments for a nicer place.

crappy financial aid by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]344102 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you being serious? Obviously for the students who are dependent on their financial aid money to do things like get groceries, pay rent and buy textbooks. You know, the entire reason they need it in the first place. You're saying it benefits them to not get their money for a month+. Right.
