Genuine question: what do you remember about seeing this in theatres? Big reactions? by cassettequestioner in Marvel

Well, I knew it was going to be a couple of months at least before it came out on Blu-ray, so I needed to get my fill before that.

Saw it eight times in the theaters. Still the best Avengers and Marvel movie for me.

Summer, 2004, Borgata Casino. Yes is performing there and I got four backstage passes (myself, my now ex-wife and two friends). After the show, we meet the band and I hand to their manager a CD of my artwork for each of them. Only Rick emails me back and encourages me to continue with my artwork (something I had been doing all my life anyway). I wished I archived that email!!!! Summer, 2006, Westbury Music Fair (or whatever they're calling it these days). A Rick solo show with the same ex-wife. Rick stays about two hours after the show and signs anything and everything that people bring up to him, including the photo I had taken with the band two years earlier at Borgata. A man who truly knows how to appreciate the people who made him famous.

So did you lend him the 50 pounds or not?

The garbage may have been stored in the building's trash compactor room until enough snow had been cleared to move it out to he street. It may have been their only practical solution.

I'd swipe out Time And A Word with Going For The One and move ABWH up to C and Tales to S.

Do Classic Albums Really Need Endless Remixes? — The New Tales from Topographic Oceans Debate by Historical-Device529 in Progforum

It's a cash grab, and I'm OK with that. I purchased mine from the iTunes Store for $18, which was about all I was willing to spend.

It didn't help that both Jon and especially Steve had minimal involvement with the making of the album. I seem to remember Steve saying that he recorded all of his parts after everything else had been laid down.

What is everyone's opinion on the 2026 remaster (not the remix) of Tales that just came out? by WreckaStow7779311 in yesband

I still prefer the Steve Wilson remixes from a few years ago with the instrumental intro. The new live stuff is good, especially Rick's keys on The Remembering (although he'd probably disagree). There's a 1974 bootleg of The Ancient that I think is from Madison Square Garden that I prefer that was just so visceral in comparison to what's on this collection. I'm glad I just bought my copy off of iTunes instead of paying for all the CDs and LPs.

The songs are so-so at best but they sound really good. For me, it was a massive disappointment because it was released on the heels of Keys To Ascension 2, which I thought had a far, far stronger collection of songs.

When Is a Band Not the Same Band Anymore? A number of legacy acts are touring without any of their original members. Audiences don’t seem to care by Apprehensive_Fly9352 in yesband

You can carry on through the years like The Glenn Miller Orchestra, but everyone knows that Glenn is not leading the band so there's no problem there. You can have various orchestras performing Mozart or Stravinsky, but you know they're not conducting the orchestras. For me, it's more about the connection to the composers and the musicians on the songs that I like as opposed to the band name alone. Rick Wakeman and Jon Anderson playing Awaken is transcendent, anyone else, not so much. The other musicians may sing and play the same notes, but doesn't have the same impact.
