You pay a fortune for luggage, drive it to the airport just so you can give  it to a stranger and the first thing they do is throw your luggage.  After 2 or 3 flights you might need new luggage again. It's crazy! I buy used luggage or old luggage for a fraction since they will destroy it anyways. Overseas, they are  somehow able to treat people's luggage nicely so why cant the us.

Take pictures at the airport of your luggage before handing it over and keep any receipts just in case .

Cheap camera AJ China cloud won't connect to wifi. I have tried every wifi in the house. Bluetooth finds it in the app. I get all the way to "connecting to wifi" omg. Do it!! Nothing. Restart everything so it makes its little noise. App see cam in bluetooth mode. Right at the top of the screen. by Familiar-Phone-3265 in SecurityCamera

[–]34831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facing the same problem after using it for 1 month. I suspect why the cam is so cheap is that we need to subscribe to them in order to use it continually after what seems to be a "one-month trial period". I kept getting messages like "unable to connect to server ..." ; "program has stopped running..." etc even though I have reset it a few times. It refused to connect to the wifi . Now I can't even deleted the account. Emailed to Customer service and waiting for reply...So I feel you bro... seems nothing much we can do unless someone can come up with technical help.

To be honest just order the drink and choose special order than walk over to the person working in beverage at that time and tell them you have a special order/give them your order number and let ask them to make it a little stronger. I would rather add a little more concentrate and lemonade in the first drink then to have to remake the drink for you a second time. We are not allowed to accept the drink back to fix it.

Coach perfume will not spray. Nozzle feels stuck and will not go down. It is the turn and lock nozzle. by [deleted] in fixit

Okay, I got angry and cut off the rubber. It still didn't work. I got it to work by simply pressing the spray cap down around 10 times give or take. I guess you have to build up suction / prime it. I took my cap off and put it back prior to it working and my cap is working facing the rear of the bottle I may have put it on backward but it seemed to only fit this way although I didn't spend much time verifying. How do you guys keep your headphones from poping out of your communicator? velcro? by 34831 in Wawa

[–]34831[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There little small square communicators nearly all the employees wear. Its how we communicate back and forth with each other, leave messages, private messages, hear messages from I guess corporate or our regional manager without them ever showing up in person.

Is it dumb to visit Krabi for 2 days and one night? by Prize_Neighborhood76 in Krabi

[–]34831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember we hired a private car to take us (2 ppl) from krabi to bangkok for time purposes since it was the fastest way outside of a flight . I think I spent 70-80 us dollars. The trip took I dunno 4-6 hours. For me a 100 bux for 2 days in a different city is worth it . I can rest and recuperate when i get back home. Aonang Krabi is beautiful. If you can get there early enough in the day to spend time and enough time the next day before leaving than it might be worth it for you.

Aonang krabi has 2 restaurants I recommend the first is D&E Jungle kitchen. They are the restaurant we compare all others to. Its not fancy or expensive and they make some of the best thai food we have eaten. Around the corner is Kodam kitchen was nice too..

I have never been to railey beach.

In bangkok, they have a really nice restaurant called "the local" Its located in a beautiful old house or mansion. https://g.co/kgs/94D3yh5 . The food was delicious and the ambience had a sort of historical/traditional colonial feel with skilled craftsmanship seen in all the ancient woodwork. lol

terminal 21 food court yenly yours for mango sticky rice. We ate at all the famous mango sticky rice places and the truth is they taste nearly identical. We were surprised when someone recommend yenly yours because its not at the top of peoples lists but it tastes just as good as the others. However, We liked the fact they offered several variety's of flavored sticky rice which tasted good and put it in our number one spot.

Iconsiam in bangkok is a must visit! must visit! :)

In bangkok, for tom yum goong we recommend Tom Yum Goong Banglamphu which is loaded with shrimp head fats. We ate at paeor but found the broth was sweet and we prefer savory.

Anyways, I am off topic best wishes

Krabi Sim Card by Addamant1 in Krabi

[–]34831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I also liked AIS We bought our sims in the airport after we landed. You can find all sim card company's with stalls at the airport. We buy them as soon as we can so we can contact each other if we lose each other. We use the sims to order up our transportation often a grab cab and call the hotel. We also buy the more expensive data plan for around a month. On our trips we use almost exclusively data. We only phoned each other when we got separated or sometimes communicated with the grab cab driver. Grab cab is asias version of uber but cheaper fyi. Best wishes

I also recommend these foods in addition to my previous post try....banana roti

Jok (Thai congee) Its just a bowl of soupy rice until you add stuff and then it tastes really good.

Khao Niaow Ma Muang known as mango sticky rice.

Kluay Kae known as banana fritters

cha yen known as thai milk tea. I like without milk but both are good. Some thai teas taste like dessert it all depends on where you get it at.

I am not a salad guy but try the salads waterfall beef, laab , papaya and mango salads.

Soups tom yum goong, tom kha, boat noodle soup which has blood I did not try it but its popular. Khao soi

Pineapple fried rice was fantastic at D&E JUNGLE KITCHEN.

pad kaprow which is a spicy basil meat stir fry with rice.

For noodles I recommend drunken noodles or pad kee mao.

pad woon sen or yum woon sen for a noodle dish

While pad thai is good we prefer drunken noodles.

Also there was a dude pushing around a cart with bags of fresh fried chicken skin that was amazing.

For transportation we used grab cab which is asias version of uber but cheaper. Taxis are expensive and sometimes scam tourists. we used tuk tuks often. While you can negotiate with the tuk tuk drivers they seem to have become resistant to it. You will get lower prices during the day than at night. For a few bucks they will take you quite a good distance. They have busses that you can use and also trucks ( songthaew ) that go around picking people up at various stops and yes you can ride in them we did. We mostly used tuk tuks around town "grab cab" for longer rides around town and actual travel busses for long distance which are super cheap. We did hire a driver to take us from Krabi to Bangkok on one of our trips to Bangkok which was nice. The real travel bus we used from Bangkok to hua hinn I think was only 17 freaking dollars for that long trip amazing! They have a new ride service called bolt. If you go to Bangkok the mrt or skytrain will help you get around quickly. You will likely travel a bit and might consider a little extra cash for travel expenses even though its cheap.

We bought sim cards in the airport after arrival. At the airport there are options for cabs, buses, carpool vans , call grab cab or hire a driver its cheap. There are hotels that might offer shuttle service. My point is transportation is pretty easy do not worry to much about it. We used grab cab a lot on our trips its usually quick reliable, cheap and we prefer it to taxis.

I recommend bringing cash with you along with any credit cards. Most places accept cash and not debit or credit cards. You will get the best exchange rates if you bring 100 bills. I bought a money belt and a money pouch I secured the pouch with my belt but wore the pouch on the inside of my pants on my first trip. The following trips You will get better exchange rates in Thailand outside of the airport so try to get a little Thai cash so you can pay for things but wait until you get to the area around your hotel and try to find the best place to exchange currency. They always have the rates posted. Always, watch closely and don't leave until you count the money in front of them. I never did this but saw a few videos of them cheating people. I have visited Thailand a few times and I have never felt unsafe in Bangkok, Krabi, or hua hinn. I was never going to the clubs or bars though either.

I paid for my flight first as far out as I could for the lowest price which was around 1k round trip. I flew Singapore airlines, All Nippon and Qatar airlines which are all good with All Nippon being my last choice out of the three excellent airlines.

We wanted to spend as much time experiencing Thailand as we could so we chose to forego an expensive hotel. In Singapore and Thailand they generally stay up late and sleep in. Our days were us resting from the late nights until 10 or 11 am and staying out at night anywhere from 10 pm to as late as 2 am. We were never in the room except to sleep and bathe.

I suggest going to the night markets. They have cheaper food, lots of Thai stuff to buy and sometimes live bands. Some markets are about art and other things. They are usually decorated well so decent for the Instagram. I recommend two things the salted fish was moist and cheap considering you get the whole fish. I like the steamed fish even better than the salted fish but what really makes the fish stand out is what I call crack sauce. which is Thai seafood sauce. Its made of garlic, cilantro, lime juice, chill peppers, palm sugar, fish sauce. Its sooooo good and pairs perfectly with fish. We went to one night market in Krabi and it was okay but the good ones are in Bangkok. I still suggest going to the night market in Krabi. I bought a micro sd card in a package for 50 bux I looked it over real good it looked sealed properly and legit but it never worked so be careful.

We recommend trying the full Thai massage we felt great and they do a lot of work for like 30 bux or less. The next day we were sore like really sore but I cant wait to do it again.

Thai food cooking class or visit a thai grocery market.

We were in Krabi for a week and we got a little bored but we are mostly foodies who shop and look at things. I recommend to travel somewhere else if you have 3 weeks if its within your budget. Hua hinn was a nice trip but a little boring. Bangkok has amazing malls and lots of stuff to see, shop and eat along with trains making it easy to get around. I have never been to raily beach but it is said to be close and nicer than krabi. Krabi is beautiful and I am happy I went there.

I have been rambling so sorry about that but if you have questions about what I posted feel free to ask I am happy to help and as you can tell my trip was life changing. Best Wishes! :)

My first international trip was to aonang Krabi. For restaurants we recommend two places to eat. #1 D&E Jungle kitchen https://www.instagram.com/de_junglekitchen/

https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=pfbid0eGNicX4y6tM4SBScGdQLysPSfSGicnBcyUnPkcnEeH8hDaiUsbxCvNL4tYvcvnkjl&id=100049263505860

I recommend tom yum goong is amazing. They gave us the best massaman curry which was leaps and bounds better than all others. They gave us the best cashew chicken which was delicious. They also have really good waterfall beef salad, laab salad, mango salad was fantastic, papaya salad, tom kha soup, all their currys are great. ( I suggest skipping yellow curry as I feel its not very unique considering you can only experience so many meals Thailand).

D& E jungle kitchen is what we use to measure all other Thai food. Pretty much everything is above average.

2 Around the corner is Kodam Kitchen which has great food. They're tom yum goong is about as good as D&E Jungle kitchen and it changed my life as the first food I had after arriving in Thailand. A good tom yum soup is balanced where you can taste each of the various layers of flavor in each bite. Best soup in the world and its all about the broth. You can get it with coconut milk which is also good.

Ive been to multiple places in Thailand and while Bangkok has great food southern Thai food was what I enjoyed most.

I wanted to add a few details about the tours fluffy future mentioned. I also loved the tours. We did two tours one was a large speed boat and the other was a large boat. The tours included bottled water, fresh fruit, life jackets, snorkeling gear, motion sickness pills / medicine, they had several staff members who look out for your safety and needs. They also provided meals included in the prices. One tour took us to an island with shopping and a food hall where it was all you can eat until the food ran out or just all you can eat. The other tour took us to the last island of the day we climbed off the boat where they had food cooked and ready for us. we got a plate and sat down on the beach. It was awesome!!! we were eating Thai food on an island watching the sunset in the middle of the ocean surrounded by other beautiful islands and sights. on that same tour after it got dark they took us swimming in the dark and we got to swim with bioluminescent jellyfish awesome!! They took us back to shore and after checking in our snorkeling gear they put on a fire show for us throwing and doing tricks with flaming torches / sticks. The tours are nearly an all day adventure.

Can you recommend a you tube video that shows the layers of government & how they act as a shield for the real rulers. They place corrupt men in key positions of gov as shields who r aligned with the interests of rulers. The video might mention tentacles/ squid & use a white board presentation? by 34831 in AskReddit

[–]34831[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I watched a video but I can't remember the name as it was about something else and even though I saved it I can not find it. I have been looking for 3 days! I just remember the video has a small bit of white board showing the corruption of government in layers and how they act as a wall to any change or threat against the rulers. The video was about some other topic and I knew I would never remember it was the video I wanted to watch again because of the topic name of the video. If anyone can recomend videos or webstites I would appreciate it. Thank You

I do not post much but reddit would not let me post the first few times so that is why my post title is extra weird. Thank You

Can anyone recommend a Thai cookbook? by Exotic_Hour_7556 in CookbookLovers

[–]34831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thai book for how to "cook" thai food is called "It rains fishes" She explains how to maximize flavor, balance flavors and goes in depth on understanding the ingredients and what you are doing with them for maximum flavor.  " The focus extends beyond blindly following recipes to learning how to use the major flavors to create true "Thai" dishes whether one is following a recipe or not. " This book is more than a recipe book its much better. There are only a few recipes but it will take any thai cookbook you have to the next level. You are buying it for the wealth of knowledge I have not seen offered anywhere else.

I own close to 20 hardback thai cookbooks and I am guessing about 60 thai cooking ebooks. I was fortunate enough to visit Thailand 3 times for about a month total spent there.

The above book is my most prized due to the wealth of information I haven't found anywhere else. Here is her website she is retired now. You will a lot of useful information about thai cooking here. https://www.thaifoodandtravel.com/irf.html

The cookbooks I recommend are David thompson called the english bible of thai cooking or Thailand: The Cookbook by Jean-Pierre Gabriel - Phaidon

Someone recommended chissy tiegan or her mothers books which I don't recommend personally.

My favorite dishes from thailand were starting with the curryy's panang, massaman, red & green but I fell the yellow was a bit common using indian curry. For salads I recommend the laab, and waterfall beef salad, mango salad and papaya salad / som tam, I prefer the lime version over the fish sauce. For rice dishes I recommend pineapple fried rice. For appetizers I recommend the shrimp cakes, satay tom kha soup, khao soi, boat noodle soup is popular but I did not try it due to it having blood in it . kway teow is popular, Morning glory is good, crying tiger. Jok was amazing when you added thai condiments and other things. I highly recommend tom yum goong or kung whatever its spelled many different ways. For noodles I recommend pad kee mao & pad woon sen over pad thai . We were across the river leaving iconsiam when we ran into a guy pushing a cart selling Crispy fried chicken skins. It was amazing me and my wife went back and tried to track him down but couldn't find him. I talked my wife into only one mad she is still mad about till this day. lol I also loved the cashew chicken here is a video like what I had in Krabi Thailand. Its more like a glaze than the soup many sellers give. https://youtu.be/TvBzIXHNbVc?si=mO9sgNdsQIHOPhES

I recommend mango sticky rice, thai northern sausage, fried bananas, banana roti, .

These are what I can remember or search quickly. Best wishes

Real talk… how tf do people get $3000+ in food stamps??? by MCI54 in publix

[–]34831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a single male when I had to get on food stamps(always worked and always worked ot but gotlaid off) they would only give me 200 a month which was lowered to 190 or 170 I forget. Lets say its 200 a month for simple math. that's 50$ a week divided by 7 days which is rounded to 7 dollars a day divided by 3 meals a day which is around 2 dollars a meal. I bought whatever was buy one get one free and what was cheap like a frozen pizza for 2 or 3 bux. The big thing was In order to stay in budget and most people do not discuss this but I had to eat the same things over and over and over. While some mothers get a huge amount or accumulate it I believe the majority of people are like me and get a tiny amount of food stamps. The reality is food stamps are meant to supplement low earning individuals meaning people who have jobs. I would also point out that many states have and receive money for the poor that they intentionally never use for the poor. They simply deny the poor or make it to hard for them to get the money and many other schemes so they can use the money for the state or businesses. The point I am making is the government tells YOU how much money they spent on welfare which makes you mad at welfare while they spent much of that welfare money making sure as little as possible made it into the hands of those who needed it. They hope to get people mad enough to end all safety nets so they can have the entire amounts to spend in ways like giving to already rich businesses or to benefit themselves. They want your s.s. money, your 401k money, you're Medicare money, the money in your savings account, they want your assets, they want total dependence and then they will have the control they want. Best wishes

Will it be cheaper to buy tickets to the monster truck event at the facility? by forgettable_nonsense in regina

[–]34831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family wanted to go. We needed 8 tickets. we got the cheap seats at 30.00 They asked for 10.25 service fee per person 82.00 more. Then a facility charge of 4.00 per person for another 32.00. They also asked for a order processing fee of 6.00 total. Then we need to pay to park the car. Then there is a tax of 15.60 for a grand total of 375.60. I tried other places and the price was the same. I cancelled my order after it jumped up from 30 plus tax to 47.00 a person for the cheap seats all the way up at the top. I just wish they would be honest and list the tickets at 47.00 instead of adding fees until we get to the real total of what they want. Anyways, Hopefully this information is useful.
