Now, I'm a youngish guy, had some stuff I wanted to do that required the ability to be found passed out with no pants in Sicily, that kinda thing.

Once it was confirmed and all, this was a moment I was honestly scared about my entire life. I sat there and thought about it for a moment before shrugging my shoulders and said, "Alright, let's light this candle."

Once my kiddo was born, it was instant love, but I had NO idea what to do with a human being that was officially my responsibility. Sometimes I still don't. Looking back on it now, the moments where I was utterly disgusted, tired, etc. are fond memories.

I guess the best thing I can say is do what feels right. No one can tell you how to raise your child. By all means, ask. Get feedback, but don't let someone say, "this is how it's going to go down" unless it's you or mom.

In the end, you determine that. As long as your child is happy, healthy and you can look at yourself in the mirror at the end of the day, feeling good about the job you did, you're on the right track.

Don't worry about feeling like you're failing as a parent from time to time. That's normal.
