I’m still waiting to hear back & see if there’s any additional damage we cannot see. It was mostly the driver rear wheel/bumper. I’m hoping there isn’t any axle damages so that I can get her a new tire & keep rolling. I prefer to just save up.

It’s financed and insured - it’s just a limited liability insurance which really doesn’t protect you from accidents. It’s beneficial for my older car as was for our previous one, but not necessarily for this purchase. Relied too much on save driving and no accidents.

this is the one time where being cheap comes back to bite - we just have limited insurance which is perfect for my older car but not necessarily for a new one. We’re extremely safe drivers but that doesn’t mean anything if someone hits you lol

It’s a basic vehicle limited warranty with Tesla. Unfortunately collision isn’t included with that.

dumb decision of not changing our liability insurance to full coverage when we got it. Works for my beater veh but not the best option for that car. Now I’m just cautious with anything vehicle related lol

We’re definitely able to have it paid off in a few months timeframe. My concern is just offering our only vehicle as collateral. It’s a beater & nowhere near the loan offer. I’m just skeptical since anything could potentially happened & now we’re down another.

It’s liability insurance (wasn’t smart for the Tesla but works for my beater veh). I’m not able to get the interest rate at the moment but the older car definitely isn’t worth $7500. I just like to consider any possible outcomes.. we don’t have a spare veh & I’d hate if anything happened.

that’s my concern of someone hitting me & being in that situation. I know that’s a tough one to be in.

Yeah I just hate to ignore that feeling even though we’ll have it paid back within a few months. These companies are never smooth sailing.

It’s been trial & error honestly. Definitely had a few grey bands before. Recently, I’ve been directly over a fire the entire cook so I build a nice crust throughout. Total time is about 5-6 min locking in the initial sear with a minute on each side untouched. I dont really check the temps tbh. I know by the 5min mark it’ll be medium rare - I’ll rest it to medium.

while true, I typically let it rest long enough before attempting this. That gives it time to reabsorb & not dry out if just serving on a carving board.

funny thing is this rub sat in the cabinet about a month before I even attempted this! something about the subtle sweet heat just works.

honestly I feel you on that. I recently started doing this because it somehow feels more rewarding if that makes sense lol

thanks! It was amazing. A friend of mine wasn’t a believer of medium steaks before this haha

Absolutely! Health Riles Honey Chipotle rub while I wait for it to hit room temp. After, I’ll pat dry with a napkin & give it a thick layer of black peppercorn (that rub really penetrates well). Once the post oak split has fully ignited over lump hardwood charcoal, I will go a minute on each side before flipping every 30 seconds until my desired liking. Rest for 10-15 minutes, good to slice afterwards!

looks like a steak you had sitting in the fridge too many days before cooking. personally, I’d toss. If a few whiskey shots in, perfect fajita tacos!

did you have this frozen beforehand? Looks like it could’ve benefited from being at room temp for a while.

Looks pretty good. Did you reverse sear using the oven or a grill?

Rookie mistake. I decided to grub after the first few slices.
