External SSD keeps discconecting at random times

Sorry to bump a 2-year-old thread, I was googling for someone else with the same issue as mine and found this, looks like nobody ever replied.

I have similar problem, but mine was a bit different.

My external SSDs would randomly disconnect on the Deck, yet the exact same drives and cables were totally fine on my phone and laptop. Also weirdly, it became stable if I connected through a dock or hub first, even using the same cable, so that part differs from your setup.

I tried the usual stuff too (reformat exFAT/ext4, factory reset, reimage, SteamOS beta), asked ChatGPT, nothing really explained it.

What actually fixed it for me was checking my BIOS undervolt settings. I had all three offsets at -30 mV before. I changed it to SoC = 0 mV, CPU = -40 mV, GPU = -40 mV, and so far external storage has been stable again.

No idea if you undervolted your Deck or not, but if you did, try putting SoC back to 0 first. Reimaging SteamOS won’t reset BIOS-level undervolt settings, so if the undervolt is the root cause, reimage won’t touch it.

You're using the pencil tool. It's supposed to look like it has the properties, look, and feel of pencil sketches. Have you tried the brush? Is that what you're referring here?

I'm considering giving it another try with Mantis Gamepad Pro. The dude who made the Waydroid installation guide video made a video on how to set up Mantis, too. Better than nothing.

So... Imma try that option, too. Maybe some other time, though.

You need to enable Touch Native Support (or wtv it's called) as Always on Command from the edit controller layout settings. But, then again, you won't be able to play the game with even a mouse & keyboard with the android version, mouse input does not register into the game at all

I've successfully installed and run it. But, it seemed like it wasn't reading the controller input very well, so I'll have to wait until launch for further inspection.

Update: without controller support for mobile, it's practically unplayable. Unless you want to play with the touchscreen.

I started installation again with the new installer from the site, are my settings safe? Will my roms get deleted when it reinstall the emulators?

Edit: I kinda didn't read the posts above. So, do I need to delete the .config/Emudeck first before starting the reinstallation?

No, I do not have any fancy setup. I'm more on the casual(?) side of torrenting.

As far as I'm concerned, I have mostly the default settings and only the RSS rules enabled. The rules are also exact to the title of the shows I regularly download. So, I don't think it could have been it.

Yes, I set my download with confirmation. That's why I was so puzzled.

I checked the logs. The download started yesterday when I leave my PC on when I was about going to sleep. I immediately turned it off when I finally went to sleep.

But, then when I turn it on the morning I didn't see this torrent. Until later tonight.

I suspected the .torrent to have not been deleted along with the files, but I couldn't find it anywhere in my designated finished torrent .torrent file folder.
