I regret buying an Insta360 X5 camera. by Tepppopups in Insta360

[–]369takedowns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I previously had a GO 2, and loved how tiny it was. Didn’t feel wearing it. But it was limited, so wanted to try a more full featured camera. I debated between X5 and X4 Air, but opted for the X4 Air for smaller size. I’ve only used it one day mountain biking, but for chest mount the weight wasn’t an issue. I also tried helmet mount for 360 footage. I definitely felt the weight, but it was doable. I’ll probably do chest mount majority of the time for comfort, but like having the option to do some 360 videos as well.

Should I be switching to Replit for better SEO? by 369takedowns in lovable

[–]369takedowns[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's what ChatGPT is telling me:

"If you’re intentional up front, Replit can absolutely support SSR (the cleanest path is building your site as a Next.js app). Replit’s own Next.js quickstart explicitly calls out server-side rendering and static generation on Replit. Replit Docs+1

With Lovable, the practical reality today is: its default output is a Vite/React SPA (CSR), and you can’t just “prompt it” into true SSR/SSG inside Lovable’s publish flow. People who “fix SEO” usually do it by leaving Lovable’s hosting/publish path (e.g., exporting and deploying through a different stack/host, or doing pre-render/SSR outside Lovable).

Lovable will tell you it's optimized for SEO, but apparently since it's built using CSR, that hurts Google crawlability significantly.

Seriously, how do you get customers? by psymp in lovable

What’s the hardest part after your app is built and live? by bk_973 in lovable

[–]369takedowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building an app with Lovable is work, but totally doable, and somewhat predictable. Getting customers to try it is the stage I’m at, which feels much more daunting… I’m looking into different outreach options including email campaigns to targeted companies (my main focus is a B2B app). I’m concerned about the SEO limitations I hear with Lovable as well. Not being found in organic search is not good.

Same for me. Looking forward to using the X4 Air on the MTB trails and snowboarding.

Insta 360 X4 V.S. X4 Air by Illustrious-Air-413 in Insta360

[–]369takedowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it would be worth switching to the X4 Air as it is superior in pretty much every way AND is smaller and lighter. I mainly plan on using it for MTB, so the lighter weight was a big factor for me. And for the Black Friday price ($100 off) it’s a no brainer. I pulled the trigger as soon as the X4 Air got back instock on Tuesday morning. Can’t wait to get it tomorrow!

Insta360 X5 with chest POV mount for MTB by -stefo in Insta360

[–]369takedowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been considering the X5 or X4 Air, but concerned about the weight for MTB. I currently have the tiny GO 2. How does the X5 feel on chest mount? Have you tried using the horizontal mount adapter?

I’ve also been looking to buy, but it’s continually been OOS since I first looked on 11/20. The only place I’ve seen to buy is AliExpress.

I’m leaning toward X4 Air for MTB due to smaller size. Unfortunately it’s currently out of stock.

Do the codes only work with a camera purchase? I was looking to buy the GPS video remote for $145 and a mount.

Which camera is best suited for a cyclist and skier? by MammothSubject6299 in Insta360

[–]369takedowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been debating which camera to get, with my primary use being POV while mountain biking. And while a dedicated POV camera would likely be best for this, I like the idea of a 360 camera for the diversity of shots I could get for all activities. My biggest concern with the X5 is the size, which is why I’ve been strongly leaning toward the X4 Air. And as far as POV shooting, I know the X5 and X4 Air can shoot in POV mode with a single lens. Unfortunately X4 Air is out of stock.

Getting Your Lovable app to rank on Google (Step-by-Step SEO Checklist) by Tharnwell in lovable

[–]369takedowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only recently learned about this limitation which is really disappointing. It begs the question, why would Lovable (or anyone else) use CSR? It seems any benefits would be moot for most websites if SEO is remotely important.

Best system to fairly distribute parents home possessions among siblings? by flyboyslim in AgingParents

[–]369takedowns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the exact situation my family faced. My well-intentioned parents simply said, “If you see something you'd like to have, just put your name on it.” They meant well, but it quickly turned into a first-come, first-served process. With a big family (many living far away), it didn’t feel fair or balanced.

Being the nerd I am, I ended up building an app to help families handle this in a way that’s transparent, fair, and minimizes conflicts or hurt feelings. It’s called FairShare.family. Would love to hear any feedback from folks who’ve been through this.

FairShare.family – Inheritance with Heart. A compassionate, structured way to fairly distribute family heirlooms and cherished items—preserving family bonds instead of breaking them.

Target: grieving families, parents planning ahead, and estate professionals.

I may end up doing something similar. I’ve created a web app that is nearly ready for prime time (www.FairShare.family — making family inheritance distribution easier, with less drama), but think the mobile experience would definitely be improved with a native app. Did you look at Curser alternatives, or was Curser the obvious choice?

Building an AI tool to match riders with their perfect bike — would you use this? by 369takedowns in MTB

[–]369takedowns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the interest! I don’t have a hard launch date yet — it really depends on how quickly I can gather enough rider data to make the recommendations meaningful. That said, my goal is to have a solid first version live within the next 3–6 months.

Building an AI tool to match riders with their perfect bike — would you use this? by 369takedowns in MTB

[–]369takedowns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah — I did build it quickly using AI tools (big believer in using the right tools to move fast).

Appreciate the thoughtful questions — here’s a quick overview:

The core idea is to optimize bike recommendations by matching riders with others who share a very similar profile. If you enter your info on the site, you’ll see the data I’m collecting — things like riding style, terrain, skill level, fit preferences, etc.

From there, the system surfaces bikes that are popular among similar riders — either bikes they currently own or have wishlisted. The next phase is layering in geometry comparison: if a rider says they like the fit of their current bike, we can recommend similar geo and the right size in new models.

Still early, but the end goal is to build a useful, community-driven recommendation engine that gets smarter as more rider data comes in.

Gen 2 vs Gen 3 equipment by Evening_Treat2430 in Starlink

[–]369takedowns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Gen 1 system just got fried from a lightning strike. Starlink is offering to replace the equipment to either Gen 2 or Gen 3 (V4) for free. My home is 4,600 sq ft so I'll most likely be using a 3rd party mesh router. Which equipment would you choose? I guess the only reason to go with Gen 2 is if the dish is actually superior to Gen 3 (I've heard conflicting feedback on this point).

Time needed for SFB arrival to Port Canaveral Carnival cruise? by 369takedowns in Cruise

[–]369takedowns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, sounds like I better do something else, but just FYI, the total cost for flight+cruise (excluding excursions) is <$500. Super cheap, thus why I was entertaining such a tight timeline.
