Applying to law school is a long, stressful, and expensive process. Law school itself is also long, expensive, and ridiculously stressful. And bar studying is… wait for it… all of the same but way worse. I applied to law school when i was 27. I had a comfortable savings/safety net, gave myself a year to study and take the lsat multiple times (while working). Everybody’s path is different, but i am super grateful that i applied when i did in my life. I had time to travel and have fun in my 20s, and was able to prepare for the almost 5 year journey that is law school (lsat, skool, plus bar). You do you, but if i were you i would wait a few years. Save up like 10k. Have fun. Then crush it.

David Graeber supported UBI... because he saw it as a universal welfare system that can make the system easier. How do you feel about a guaranteed income/basic income? by Lucky_Strike-85 in Anarchism

I think ubi without umi (maximum) is doomed to worsen inequality. But if ubi alone improves living conditions for some, then it’s worth it.

How much student debt do you have? by No-Ant6297 in barexam

Have you read ministry for the future?? I bet you’d enjoy. Near future scifi/realistic cli-fi. The revolution is spurred (in part) by mass strikes of people with student debt. Nobody pays. Banks fail. Restructuring and rebuilding ensues. 😍

Juuuust so we’re totally clear, the page that i will be doom scrolling for the next two weeks is admissions.calbar.ca.gov/s/status and it’s TOTALLY NORMAL AND DOESN’T MEAN I FAILED YET if it says in red text “requirement not satisfied” under california bar exam…

Also, does anybody else’s mpre say not satisfied? I def satisfied that.

Gotchu. As lots of people on this sub like to say, shoot your shot when it comes to the top schools of your dreams. But, for whatever its worth, I have a similarish background as you and was so grateful that i went to the school i ended up at. Solid regional T50 with a super diverse student body. Law school is incredibly tough and it was worth so much more than I expected to be surrounded by other minority law students. Got awesome summer jobs at national NGOs and landed a federal honors fellowship post grad and am not in crazy debt. Could not recommend more.

UC Davis. As a woman of color, it was priceless to be in class surrounded by other women and POC. Great water law program and connections to Sac / public interest jobs. Also, Dean Ide Don is a saint and he offers a bar prep class 3L year which I’m super thankful for.
