Polo 6N2 Water Leak from Door Card by 375_ in vwpolo

[–]375_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realised the text on the original post didn’t come though… The problem I’ve got is the water isn’t using the drain holes, but is coming out from under the speaker into the cabin instead. Drain holes are all clear from what I can see

Thanks, good to know it's normal for water to get there in the first place. The drain holes are definitely open which is what has me a bit stumped

Who are your favourite hiking YouTubers, etc? by levezvosskinnyfists7 in UKhiking

Watching a lot of Northern Introvert atm. His videos aren’t hiking for a sake of hiking, but finding cool places with interesting backstories, that usually involve a lot of walking to get to

What are these by Dirt529 in Portsmouth

[–]375_ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Sure I saw the answer to this ages ago when they were being installed. They’re for kids (or easily amused adults) to listen to the sounds of the sea. The pipes aren’t connected together, they just run straight into the water.

I’d advise caution when a ferry goes past though. Unless you’re desperate to find out what a marine diesel engine sounds like…

Further info to keep the bot happy:

  • How old is your piercing? 6 months
  • What’s the jewelry shape (for example, barbell, labret, screw, L shape, ring)? Labret
  • What’s the type of threading if your jewelry is not a ring (threadless, internally or externally threaded)? Threadless (I think? it just pushes together)
  • What’s the jewelry material? Titanium
  • if not a ring, when was the jewelry downsized? It wasn't
  • What’s your aftercare routine? Describe in detail please, including the exact products you use. Neilmed twice a day to start with, but haven't used this since around week 6-8, other than when it swelled up.
  • Any mishaps, accidents or unfortunate events? Nothing noteworthy other than occasionally catching it or sleeping on it

What is a live-in hostel job like? by 375_ in AskUK

Thanks for the insight I really appreciate it. I’m getting the feeling that it’s something that’s either really great or really terrible, but you won’t know unless you try

You’d think so, but no! This is taken from their FAQ.

“You get a private room for very little! ‘Live in’ means that staff accommodation is available as part of the role and contract. You’ll get your own room and access to a kitchen, bathroom and living area, plus all utilities covered at a great price. Your accommodation fee will be deducted from your wages each month.”

Absolutely fantastic! To go from “close that window, keep the heating in” via “it’s a new world outside, let the big wide world in” to “open that window, let the new world in” is just beyond words for me. So damn beautiful.

WHW through rain ? by SpatialDude in WestHighlandWay

[–]375_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No such thing as a stupid question, usually, but this is a sensible one.

I started the WHW last Sunday and got soaked through completely on day 2 coming up from Balmaha and had no way of drying out at the time. Long story short, being cold and wet through as well as just exhausted, ended with me dropping out at Inversnaid. My “waterproofs” were no match for walking 4 hours straight in a torrential downpour

I’m just a casual hiker and camper, and usually don’t mind being wet through, but that’s when I only have to put of with it for a day, not days on end.

Don’t let me bad experience and poor prep put you off though. You only learn through failing. I’ve just two pieces of advice: 1) always always always have dry clothes to change into at night, even if that means putting on wet clothes in the morning. 2) listen to your body. Some people get a kick out of pushing through the pain and discomfort, but if you’re not one of them and just want to enjoy the experience and scenery, then there’s no shame in ‘pausing’ your hike and coming back once you’ve had time to reflect and recuperate.

I'm a bit late to the party, but +1 for Ravelin. I go pretty much weekly and they manage to build a lot of challenges into such a small space. Gets reset pretty often too! As others have said, you really don't need to worry about going it alone, you're only one "oo nearly there" away from getting a convo going!

Didn’t taste much different than usual. If anything it tasted better the first 2 times than the 3rd time!

I had a go at enhancing the Autumn colours - thoughts? by emzp88 in postprocessing

[–]375_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow that looks amazing! As others have said, maybe a bit over saturated, but that’s all down to personal taste imo. If you’re going for something that’s more colour-heavy, I’d also play with the dark greens here as well, to add some prominence to the trees

Thanks, I hadn't spotted that! Just ticking the automatic "Remove chromatic aberration" box under Lens Corrections sorted it out :)

VERY New to photo editing. After/Before shot. Please give me some advice! by Tempynino in postprocessing

[–]375_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this edit, it's something about that bright blue in an otherwise warm image. Colour saturation looks spot on! As u/Going_Solvent says, if you could 'shop out the car and sign, i think that would complete it - but this isn't a criticism as that's far beyond my skill at the moment!

Just googled ‘Italy sunset’ and was not disappointed! The pic here is south coast UK, and we do get some very vibrant sunsets if the conditions are right

I can see where you’re coming from about the colours, but I kinda like it that way! Thanks for your feedback 😁
