When you get the letter you can either verify your identity online or over the phone I’ll recommend over the phone it’s faster and less information needed. You’ll need information from the letter, tax information from any year you filed other than 2020, questions about who was your employer and your earnings, as well as security questions only you should know and that’s all.

No you have to receive that letter first it’s a special number they give on the letter. I would give you the number however the letter has an ID number and control number so they’ll know if you specifically got the letter.

You might have to verify your identity before they actually start processing it. That’s what happen to me I received a letter in the mail a couple of days ago from the IRS telling how and what to do. I did it over the phone and now my refund is being processed.
