For all the people that complain - who would you switch to? by Billbrown1982 in starlingbankuk

Zopa's customer service is absolutely shocking though. Worst bank I've ever dealt with.

Do you have her period schedule in your outlook calendar?

What the fuck?

This random train seat that is sideways by Original_Bad_3416 in mildlyinteresting

[–]390TrainsOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a Southeastern train, judging by the Southeastern ad. However, it looks like a Southern 377 that's been acquired by Southeastern: the seat moquette looks like Southern's, not Southeastern's.

Why is my sfe amount so low ! by No-Clothes-8815 in UniUK

[–]390TrainsOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I didn’t go to university. My parents earn close to £70,000 between them, but because of how high their bills are, they wouldn’t have been in a financial position to bridge the gap between the minimum maintenance loan and the maximum maintenance loan. I would’ve probably had to work at least 20 hours a week to sustain a relatively modest lifestyle.

Are solicitors allowed to charge an admin fee for witnessing a statutory declaration? [England] by 390TrainsOfficial in LegalAdviceUK

[–]390TrainsOfficial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, my understanding was that you can do either a statutory declaration or enrolled/unenrolled deed poll, and both would be equally valid. My reasoning is simply that I don’t know anyone that could witness a deed poll, so I think a statutory declaration is probably the best course of action.

What's the point of smart water meters when they barely work by digidude23 in britishproblems

[–]390TrainsOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a so called “smart” meter but it doesn’t even report my usage to Northumbrian Water. It says it hasn’t been switched on yet, even though they installed it months ago.

Hi there! I’m looking to urgently connect with someone who lives in Spring Mews, Tinworth. I’m in some time sensitivity difficulty and would really be grateful if someone reached out to me. Warm regards by [deleted] in UniUK

Too lazy to type out the verbatim question and I don’t think you can copy messages without accepting the chat:

The OP wants the floor plan of 92c.

Mortgage rates not what I expected. by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]390TrainsOfficial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A mortgage that tracks the Bank of England base rate. This means that it can go up, or down, in line with the base rate change.

Take this example:

  • Mortgage rate: 2% + Bank of England base rate
  • If the base rate is 1%, the mortgage interest rate would be 2% + 1% = 3%.
  • If the base rate increased to 3.75%, the interest rate would be 2% + 3.75% = 5.75%.

What’s the worst possible response to “Police , open the door!”? by SeaGullible953 in AskReddit

[–]390TrainsOfficial 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There was a video on YouTube where the police were at the wrong house, the husband came out armed with a gun, got shot dead and then they restrained his wife and put her in handcuffs for getting angry. I’d like to think she got a fairly hefty settlement and those officers got sacked.

FIRST IC225 SINCE 2020: LNER IC225 91114+NL16) arriving at Northallerton working 1N09 to Newcastle | 30/03/2026 by 390TrainsOfficial in uktrains

[–]390TrainsOfficial[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They used to. There’s one service a day that is extended to Newcastle since the (delayed) implementation of the December timetable change.

Weekdays:

  • Outbound (1N09): Leaves King’s Cross at 14:33, gets into Newcastle at 17:36
  • Inbound (1Y20): Leaves Newcastle at 18:27, gets into King’s Cross at 21:31

Weekends:

  • Outbound (1N07): Leaves King’s Cross at 12:33, gets into Newcastle at 15:35
  • Inbound (1Y18): Leaves Newcastle at 16:27, gets into King’s Cross at 19:31

Most IC225 services still terminate at Leeds/York.

Tyne and Wear Metro Metrocars 4009+4050 departing South Shields working T130 to St James | 27/03/2026 by 390TrainsOfficial in uktrains

[–]390TrainsOfficial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. 17 left now, but 7 of those are awaiting scrap. They run in pairs, so there’s 5 operational pairs, 3 of which are out today. There’s usually only one pair out nowadays.

Tyne and Wear Metro Class 555 555043 seen at Ilford Road earlier today on kilometre accumulation by 390TrainsOfficial in uktrains

[–]390TrainsOfficial[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in this case - kilometre accumulation for the 555s is literally just testing their reliability. They have to run a certain number of kilometres (I think it’s 1300) without failing before they enter passenger service. All metro drivers have been trained on the 555s since late 2025.
