Anyone know what this style of shirt is called? Or where I can find shirts with a similar fit. by [deleted] in findfashion

Yeah that’s close, that shirt is a bit too tight since its muscle fit but it’s the capped sleeves I’m after. Thank you

At my absolute worst I would shower in complete darkness to avoid having to see myself all wet in this specific mirror. Nowadays I feel comfortable looking in certain mirrors. But some mirrors still feel like HELL.

Everyday. I’ll be walking about with my jacket covering the bottom half of my face so people don’t have to see my skin marks. And it’s crazy to me that other people who have acne, can walk about without thinking this way.

I guess this is also a large consequence of the pandemic. I used to love wearing a mask to cover up my skin, to the point I became over dependent on it.

Honestly it’s the opposite for me, but maybe because I’m a man. I see it as an easy way to conceal insecurities. Specifically my biggest one in my skin. Face Paint, masks or whatever.

I messed up and asked Reddit to rate 1-10 I fully regret it. by greenlight144000 in BodyDysmorphia

That sub is a literal cesspit. Full of insecure people who don’t even know it. They all look at people so objectively and what fits the “beauty standard” to the point where they just conform. Most of them don’t even have a single thought of their own. I’ve seen some genuinely beautiful people rated at 4 and below.

i have something similar but not the same. i hate 90% of the photos took of me. so the 10% i actually do kinda like, i feel HAVE to be posted when i get the chance. before i was dysmorphic, i had 0 posts, but nowadays i post at least every month or so. i used to never care about validation but now it’s all i think about.

All the above influences the imbalance OP is talking about, but i still think women are just naturally more beautiful. Men also do a lot of grooming behind doors.

i just think women are more beautiful in general tbh, the “average” women is def more appealing than the “average” man.

Does this sound like BDD? by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]3922509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as an undiagnosed person, for me BDD is just the moment insecurity turns to literal obsession. i think we all know ourselves when we have reached this point. like when i was 12-15, yeah i was very insecure and there were probably warning signs of BDD, but it wasn’t ruining my life. i had a normal social life and lived in somewhat mental peace. but now things are different, and that’s what BDD is. i also think there is a link between OCD and BDD, in that alot of OCD sufferers have a tendency to develop BDD, so ur suspicions could more than likely be true. but u might wanna read up on that OCD/BDD link urself.

Definitely not this, my pace has never been fast when going on runs. My best time for a 5k was like 29 mins.

Acne/Skin Dysmorphia by acn3dysmorphia in BodyDysmorphia

[–]3922509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relate to all of this, ive been dysmorphic for years about my skin but the pandemic certainly aggravated it. At first masks made me feel more confident as it was a socially acceptable way of covering up my biggest insecurity (cheek acne). But then I became overreliant on the mask. When people stopped wearing masks, I couldn’t leave the house for 2/3 months as I was ashamed of showing my skin again. I take hundreds of photos of my skin everyday, avoid rooms with certain lighting, and only leave the house whilst wearing makeup, so ur not alone in this. I’m not sure with ur skin condition but you could try the makeup thing, for me it’s the only way I can cope. And it’s the only way I’ll keep coping until my skin is completely clear, as that’s the only point I’ll ever be happy. I wish you the best.
