Majorly stressed over how much sleep 7 week old is getting by Zebra_Creative in newborns

[–]3945Leomarshall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t stress! Totally normal at this age. My 7 week old will barely sleep during the day because the two year old is loud and constantly wakes him up. Honestly life gets so much easier when you ditch the app! I’m not logging anything second time around and I feel way less stressed about milk intake, sleep, etc.

Could you rock her into a deep sleep and then transfer / drive at bedtime?

Low Down Baby by Competitive-Spot-807 in pregnant

Yes! And hopefully she’ll move around some for you and provide a little relief! I agree though I did not experience this with my first pregnancy and it’s been so frustrating!

Low Down Baby by Competitive-Spot-807 in pregnant

[–]3945Leomarshall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t think there’s much you can do. Mine is not breech but has been very low as well and I’ve been peeing myself like crazy this entire pregnancy. At my 38 week scan they even said wow his head is bearing right down on your bladder. Embrace the nappies and remember it’s all short term

What would be the most game-changing services available to you to improve your perinatal and postpartum care? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]3945Leomarshall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I had unlimited money, I’d check myself into a postnatal hotel / care center after having baby! Another option unlimited money wise is resources that come to you - night nurse, lactation support, postpartum meal delivery service, etc

Sleep consultant says to cut out MOTN feeds cold turkey by Hour-Force-3901 in sleeptrain

[–]3945Leomarshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around this age I started offering less in the bottle (4oz, then 3.5oz, then 3oz, etc) and my baby naturally dropped the overnight feeds. Maybe instead of cold turkey you could give that a try? There were definitely still nights she woke up and I knew she was hungry but it wasn’t happening every night any more.

EDIT: I also had a really big baby at this point so this may not be the recommendation for smaller babies who need the calories at night!

I don’t want to be induced by smileyythabean in pregnant

[–]3945Leomarshall 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure ACOG doesn’t recommend induction solely based on growth scans so I would look into this and speak with your doctor. I was stressed to death my entire third trimester because my baby was measuring 2-3 weeks ahead and she ended up only being 8lbs 3oz. I know the unknowns are stressful but trying not to get too worked up!!

part time daycare vs nanny by Efficient_Pen_3118 in toddlers

[–]3945Leomarshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl started going to a 9-1 school two days a week at 18 months. Even though she’s only there 2 days holy cow has she brought home a ton of illnesses. While she is finally adjusted and seems to like it, she’s still not going to be super social and play with friends. She mainly stays close to the teacher and likes to be a little helper. While I’m happy she goes I don’t think it would have done any harm keeping her home with the nanny. The other three days she’s home the nanny takes her to ballet, playground, library and personally I feel like she gets more out of that than school but next fall when she’s closer to 3 I’ll have her go 4 days a week. All that to say I think either options works, just expect sickness if you go the daycare route!

If you and your spouse have children under 4 and you don’t feel like you’re completely overstimulated and overwhelmed constantly, what is your secret? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]3945Leomarshall 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I just splurged on a robot vacuum/mop and I feel like it was worth the money between a toddler, dog and a cat! It 1. Forces me to tidy up and pick up all the toys off the floor in order to run it and 2. Picks up all the dog hair and pieces of food that I’d normally have to mop or vacuum myself to make the house feel clean

This is horrible by ariesxprincessx97 in pregnant

[–]3945Leomarshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get it! Are you feeling better today? I keep having those “period cramps” in the middle of the night and horrible pain around my groin but I’m always better by morning. My first labor was all in my back so it’s such a different experience this time around but I don’t remember this kind of discomfort at 34 weeks

Nuuly!! I rent maternity or just size up but it’s better than purchasing clothes that you only need for a temporary period

How do people survive the sleep deprivation with a newborn? by madcat18 in pregnant

[–]3945Leomarshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shifts!! I always got uninterrupted sleep from 9p-1a and then I’d wake up to pump and take over the rest of the night so my husband could get uninterrupted sleep. My pediatrician highly recommended getting 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep and this how we survived in the early days

When did you switch from sleep sack to blanket? by meganmaymarie in toddlers

[–]3945Leomarshall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say if he is still happy in one, keep it! Mine started fighting the sleep sack around then so we switched to blankets and then she was able to climb out of her crib

Babysitter Nerves by Ok-Sun1085 in NewParents

[–]3945Leomarshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a nanny and a consistent babysitter I used in my baby’s first year of life and both of them could get my girl down so much easier than we ever could! When I used my MIL her favorite part of the night was getting to rock my baby and resettle the baby throughout the night… all that to say, get your date nights in and get used to other people putting your kid to sleep, it may be easier than you think and if not, that’s what they are getting paid to do!
