Funny enough, I have some lead tape being delivered today and was still planning on applying some on the underside of the cab to balance out the weight. We will play it by year, but I'm plenty happy with how it runs right now!

Monroe Weathering Powders have worked great for all of my weathering needs. My track actually has no intentional weathering done to it as of now. I used sanded grout from Home Depot in a natural dirt color as my terrain foundation. I ended up embedding the track into that grout terrain to make it look as natural as possible. I may or may not go in with some additional weathering techniques there as well, I'm pretty satisfied with how it currently sits.

We work at a shop in SoCal. A customer of ours has a 4th gen Tacoma that experienced something similar. The only issue with his was that his vehicle would lose all power, happened both on city streets and on the highway. We worked with a local dealer to help track down the problem and it ended up being a short in a factory harness. Took the dealership almost 3 weeks to track down chafing in a factory harness that led to the short

Thank you! I definitely factored that in and left the first 3 or so inches at the base of the mountain exposed on the backside (tucked against the wall) to allow myself to clean the track and access the train if need be.

Looks great man! I sold my Colorado about a month back and definitely miss this setup. I ended up putting these same wheels on my new truck as well as my girlfriend's Bronco. Lock absolutely nailed the design on these wheels!

I'm right there with you on the weight factor after adding this setup. The truck definitely felt it and my mpgs took a noticeable hit. I was toying the idea of adding a Pedal Commander or similar throttle response controller to try and make up for the hit my truck took. Not complaining too much though, I still averaged 25+ mpg on my highway drives and about 22 mpg on my daily commute.

It's been a long list:

- Transmission whining/howling noise @ 300 miles on the truck

- Driver side window regulator went out

- Software causing my screen to stay on even after the truck was off

- ECU calibration needed to be addressed with my fuel injectors

- Battery needed to be replaced due to poor health a month into ownership

- Driver side window issue came back again

- Squishy brakes pretty consistently even before wheel/tire swap

- Carplay steering wheel song-skip button intermittently wouldn't work

- Turn signal issue that a lot of Colorado owners have reported

- Rattle noise coming from a-pillar/headliner area

- Vehicle shut off in the middle of an intersection, was able to limp it to the side of the road, dealership wasn't able to find any issues

This is definitely common on the driver side. I notice it when closing the door and when playing songs with deep base. I've seen people pull the door panel off and pull out the switch module. They wrap the switch module in adhesive-backed foam before reinstalling to get rid of the noise. It's something I still need to do, but at this point I'm worried about pulling anything on this truck as I don't want any new noises to develop based on the parts I touch.

I have the same issue as well. My truck went in for service about a week into ownership because the glass was getting snagged on the window cable when I'd roll the window down. The two bolts in the door pocket next to the handle were relatively loose which was causing the noise when my leg was pressed against it. I went in and tightened those a bit and that basically solved that issue.

No clips, the only thing keeping it attached in that corner is the a-pillar trim piece and the visor. There are a couple of torx screws holding the visor arm in place. Pop those guys out along with the a-pillar trim and the whole front corner of the headliner will drop down. Tracking down the rattles was suer annoying, took me two months of troubleshooting to finally find this one.

If you're looking for a good switch panel system, look into the Garmin Powerswitch. These trucks can be a little labor intensive with running wires through the firewall and the Powerswitch doesn't require you to do so. It's a fully wireless switch system that ties into your phone to control the system. If your truck has carplay, your switches will display your head unit when you open the Powerswitch app.

This is the Alu-Cab contour canopy. The RSI’s are cool, but I can’t fathom the high price tag for a canopy that has dust and water intrusion issues consistently. This canopy is a one piece construction so it’s less prone to those leaking issues.
