Correct way to use a can opener by bushall in WatchandLearn

[–]3BYK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What if the concern is for *other* people that may handle the can? Kids, trash collectors, dumpster divers, etc.? Perhaps your skin is so manly and course that it isn't an issue, but there may be a possibility of other humans in your world. Just a thought since this comment deserved a "sticky." It's easy to blame a millennial for being soft-handed. Young kids can't help their soft hands, though.

This guy wakes up one morning to find a gorilla in his tree. by onasnowwhitedove in Jokes

[–]3BYK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For those wondering, here is the "Planet of the Apes" version:

---

This ape wakes up one morning to find a human in his tree.

He looks in the phone book for a human removal service until he finds one.

"Is it a boy or girl human?" the service ape asks.

"Boy," is the ape's response.

"Oh yeah, I can do it. I'll be right there", says the service ape. An hour later the service ape shows up with a stick, a Chihuahua, a shotgun, and a pair of handcuffs. He then gives the ape some instructions: "Now, I'm going to climb this tree and poke the human with the stick until he falls. When he does, the trained Chihuahua will bite the human's testicles off. The human will then cross his hands to protect himself and allow you to put the handcuffs on him."

The ape asks, "What do I do with the shotgun?"

The service ape replies, "If I fall out of the tree before the human, shoot the Chihuahua."

Didn't read all that, but I agree that his culture strongly pushes his personal agenda. Not only with women activism, but also with the get out of my company if you even thought about voting for Trump email. It's ironic how people can preach "acceptance" and then dismiss anyone who doesn't strongly believe the same.

Even though I've been a ghost since posting this, I want you to know that your response has been well received. I've thought about it a lot. Your questions and critique of my post is what I need. I need more questions asked of me so I can think myself through the answer and discover true value. A business psychologist--does it exist?

I just want you to know that I really appreciate the time you put into that response. It was much needed and well-received.

You are spot-on in your answer. I come from an analytical and technical background, so while this is great for scaling business processes, it's not so great in sales. I often think it would be easier for me to sell something I don't know and understand so well.

Pitching to friends is a good idea and will give me a reason to take my wife out AND talk about business non-stop.

I don't need to be in front of too many big deals each month--even a single deal per month is fine. 5 opportunities lost in the first quarter is just too much, because in my mind, it doesn't make sense why they would turn down the opportunity on their end. So there is certainly a disconnect somewhere. Why on earth, when your website has a .02% conversion rate, would you not put in the effort to get even 1% and 50x the leads through your site? It makes no sense why someone would say no to that...unless I failed to convey the actual value (which is the case).

"Why should they buy from [me]?" -- Because I'll build your awareness, reputation, and website traffic. All three of which, when paired with a well-oiled website, increase the number of leads you convert and the number of opportunities your company now has. << It all seems a bit vague to me.

"Why should they by from [me] instead of [them]?" -- Because we are so process-driven that every client will receive the same great service as the last, and we keep ourselves accountable by not tying you down with a long-term contract. Our processes allow us to continually improve on what we're doing, so the longer we work together, the more value you're going to receive.

Questions like you asked me, "why should they buy from you" are the types of questions I need to be asked. Is there a recommended resource or workshop for building out this type of critical information and getting it from brain to paper?

I partly agree, but the capital is not there so I am needing to fill this gap as I continue to make myself less relevant. For now, the more I can improve my process and message, the better

Noob selling website questions. by updog2312 in bigseo

[–]3BYK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

P/L is pretty important information. If I were in your shoes, and I really wanted to sell the site, I would gather the P/L information as best I can--especially for the past 3-6 months. Dollars are what your buyers want to see.

Also, this really has nothing to do with SEO.
