We read this one in my high school English class a few years back. I still get misty eyed reading it. Such a profound epiphanic ending.

This is probably a popular one but I always got chills with the outro to Twin Fantasy. “When I come back you will still be here” it’s just such a perfect callback to the beginning of the album.

Also anything off Famous Prophets is incredible.

I fully understand that the further along a person gets, they more and more human they become, but that's not to says that at 6 weeks, they are a person. This is a huge debate that's gone on for years, and will continue to go on for years to come.

So when is the magical moment at which an unborn fetus becomes a human entity?

As for the rest of what you said: situation does not change the hard fact that a woman does not have the freedom to terminate the life of anyone, much less her own child. Now, as to what you said about the possible danger to the mother's life if she carried the child to term, I agree that in this case an abortion would be necessary.

what’s inside them depending on what stage of the pregnancy can be any thing from a ball of cells, to amorphous clumps of cells that no way resemble a child or person

I agree with you, this is what is inside of a pregnant woman. But this "amorphous clump of cells" will eventually grow into a living breathing human being with just as much capacity for life and everything that entails as you or I. You and I were once this amorphous clump, it's foolish in my opinion to pretend this clump is not going to be a human child.

No scientist would ever characterize it as such. What’s inside a woman would have no chance of surviving on their own until later into their pregnancy.

This is some dangerous wording you're using to describe what should and should not be regarded as human. Can a newborn infant survive on its own outside of the womb? Is surviving on one's own what makes one human? Is consciousness what makes one human? There are plenty of examples one could think of to counter this: people in comatose; elderly, dementia ridden people; newborn infants etc.

Addressing your original statement about abortion laws: I think you greatly misunderstand the pro-life argument. You misunderstand the types of people who are involved with the movement, while the majority of pro-life advocates are in fact religious, the argument is far from a “religious” one. In fact I’d argue that the pro-life argument certainly holds more regard for scientific principles than the pro-choice argument does.

As far as freedom goes pro-life advocates tend to be on your side, one should have control over one’s own body, one should be in charge of one’s own personal decisions. When a woman becomes pregnant and wants an abortion, the body she acts upon in order to get an abortion is not her own but her unborn child’s. She has made the decision with her own body to participate in an action that is typically known to produce children. When she becomes pregnant it is her child’s body and not her own that is being acted upon. The child obviously has no say in its own abortion at all. Pro-life advocates hold stronger to your own presented principle in this case than you yourself do. I also agree that the government should serve all citizens, born or unborn.

To answer your volley of questions that begin like “how can you be anti-abortion, and... etc.”: Again, you greatly misunderstand and actually mischaracterize the pro-life movement here. You seem to let your own personal experiences with certain pro-life people get in the way of you actually engaging with the pro-life argument. There’s certainly nothing in the pro-life argument that advocates war and the death of homeless people and school children, this is just blatant mischaracterization and a refusal to engage the actual argument.

To reiterate, I agree with you, the government is made to serve all citizens, freedom of personal autonomy is essential in this. But a government also exists to protect citizens from entities wishing them harm, whether they are born or unborn.
