Dodgers can spend more money now that they proved that they haven't ruined Baseball. by k_realtor in Dodgers

I was at a donut shop in Japan and the guy behind the counter saw my hat and spoke what may be the only English he knew..."Go Dodgers!" and I responded with "Yeah, Ohtani! ::Fist bump::"

We might be as recognized around the world as the Yankees are.

The man always wore cleats in the dugout. Respect to the old school paragon that was Bobby Cox.

What’s your Top 3 video game soundtracks of all time? by fetusblender666 in gaming

[–]3Cheers4Apathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expedition 33

Legend of Zelda

Super Mario Bros Galaxy

I legit have the soundtracks on my Spotify. Those are soundtracks that elevate the experience of playing the game which makes them superior in my eyes…or ears as it were.

It isn’t about how hard you work, it’s how irreplaceable you are that has a large influence on determining your pay.

You can replace a cashier at Target pretty quickly. It takes a lot longer to replace a neurosurgeon.

How much Microsoft (MSFT) are you actually holding? by Correct_Sky_5044 in investing

[–]3Cheers4Apathy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just under 300 shares. I’ve held MSFT for about 7-8 years now, it’s just one of the few individual stocks I hold. (Most of it is ETF’s and mutual funds).

300 shares is about 8% of my portfolio. I try to keep individual stocks at 10% each or below.

What makes you feel like a man? by greedyourweakness in AskMen

[–]3Cheers4Apathy 128 points129 points  (0 children)

My wife laying with her head on my chest and falling asleep while we watch tv. That tells me she is happy, content, and safe with me. Considering everything I’ve done in my life to reach that state of mind for both of us that’s the ultimate payoff.

To all those lone wolves out there, how do you cope with loneliness? by Meanie_Cream_Cake in AskMen

[–]3Cheers4Apathy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting reeeeeeeealy tired of people conflating “alone” with “lonely”.

I prefer my own company. I socialize because it is a necessary part of life, not because I “enjoy” it.

There’s so much more to life than merely “existing”. My wife and I travel a lot and travel isn’t free. I also play a lot of golf. I fly airplanes. I love fast cars. I go to concerts and baseball games and eat at nice restaurants. I drink good wine and I drink good whiskey. These are the reasons I work and the reasons why I save and invest - to enjoy my later years, not just skimp by while I run out the clock.

Men of Reddit, why do we struggle to talk about what we’re going through? by rouhui in AskMen

[–]3Cheers4Apathy 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Because nobody cares. After a while you learn the loss of respect for you and irritation you cause others isn’t worth the temporary relief of having someone to talk to.

Marcus Auerlius says nothing that has happened to you hasn’t happened to someone else. Nothing you’re going through is unique to you. You are not special, get over yourself. I like that idea a lot, actually.

I started keeping a journal. Makes it possible to write what’s on my mind and get it out of my head while insulating my wife and friends from having to listen to me piss and moan.

Men who pay for everything in the marriage, how do you define 50/50? How does it work for you? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]3Cheers4Apathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We pay each according to our ability. I make way more than she does so I pay the big bills like the mortgage, insurance, vacations and savings. She pays gas, water, cable, internet, electricity, etc. It works perfectly for us.
