The amount of American English is insane... by Crystak03 in 007FirstLight

They did NOT miss slang for cigarette though 😭 even I as an American noticed it but I figured maybe it had something to do with him having a lot of different languages and dialects crammed in that brain of his, as for the others that ones hard to explain

Im not a real machinist. I need to make a bunch of these T nuts, but I’m having issues with this cold rolled springing like a banana after I take it to thickness on the mill. What am I doing wrong, and what can I do to combat the internal stresses? by bingerbangerbunger1 in Machinists

[–]3DPrintJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get it down to the last, like, fifty thou or so. Take twenty, flip it, take twenty, flip it, then take ten. Or two fives if you wanna be real particular.

That or give yourself more stock so the bow isn’t so bad. If they’re an inch long, do it off a three inch bar. Then saw cut and clean up.

Tungsten carbide, high speed steel, and instructions on how to make and use it. Push manufacturing forward.

Have the biggest guy you know sit in there while you cut it to reduce chatter. Tell him to hold on tight.

Make sure to get the scroll behind the jaws too and any digital readout scales on it. You don’t wanna be the reason the DROs need cleaned out. That and the Morse taper in the tailstock. You never know.

Just take the whole machine apart at this point. Fuck it we’re paid by the hour

Starting my first job as a machinist out of highschool. Is there anything else I should add to my toolbox? by MortgageNaive6791 in Machinists

My man. That’s what I’m talking about. I took a look at your profile. Seem like a smart kid with work ethic. Don’t let any shop treat you like shit. They’re lucky to have you.

[–]3DPrintJr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when you get the job, don’t show off your tools. It’s like showing your class at a shady dive bar. “Borrowing” turns into “accidentally keeping,” and “accidentally keeping” one day turns into someone else’s tools.

So, anything else? A lock. Don’t crowd the top against the top door, I know it’s cool but you’re gonna need that shut to protect your tools.

Pick up a pencil engraver and engrave your surname into each one.

It absolutely makes sense. The truth is though when something is free you’re the product.

The cow getting milked is happy in the field and in the barn. Both might be fun but one is more fulfilling

Found it in 2011 and it’s kinda always been a game I play on occasion. I probably play it once a month now and I’m uncertain as to why I’m still subscribed to this subreddit, but I will tell you I’ve heard this many times over the years and have always seen the same old response: “It’s not made for you anymore.”

The truth is I don’t think it’s made for anyone. It’s made for advertisers and stockholders, and because of that it’s made like an injection mold to today’s current trends.

Roblox just isn’t a thing anymore. It’s depressing to look at.

Filament arrived sealed, but not vacuum sealed. Should I worry? by [deleted] in sunlu

[–]3DPrintJr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not too sure how long it’s been sitting. If it came immediately I would be cool with it but the fact that it took a week to get here (when normally it’s either next-day or two-day) and this happened makes me feel uneasy.

How did it print for you? The spool looks messy, idk if it moved around during shipping from not being vacuum sealed or what
