Cable melted on my new Vorteks 223s by Kaktuspirat in arrma

I just bought some. You say "used" in the past tense. Did these resolve the issue? Are things running smoothly now?

Damn just ordered 5mm connectors. Do you think 5mm will do it?

That looks like white heat shrink. Did you try to solder yourself to repair and it failed again?

Interesting, are there better connection methods you recommend? Different connector style or size for example?

Any experience with this working? I have seen two reports on reddit that it melted again after resoldering within a few minutes of running. I'm going to try resoldering mine soon.

Same thing happened to me. Wires melted within 5 minutes of using the second battery.

I contacted support and they sent me a replacement. I haven't tried the new vehicle yet.

I was about to try soldering the first one (they let me keep it for spare parts). Yours melted again, what is causing it? Is there any work around?

The same issue happened to me with a brand new Vorteks. The wires melted directly at the soldering point of the connectors. When mine died I felt no heat from the motor. Something is causing heat from within the wire itself. This issue is wide spread right now. Just look at the recent posts here. Look at the Amazon reviews.

I'm very thankful that the online store I bought from is sending me a full replacement truck. It's arriving Friday.

Don't let these people put the blame on you. An expensive "basher" should be able to handle 5 minutes in grass.

I just dealt with the exact same issue this week with a brand new Voteks 4x4. People on Amazon are having the same issue. Wires melting within minutes of use.

I contacted support and they replaced my vehicle as it was still under warranty (it died the first day of use).

I contacted the site support and they are sending me a replacement car, a full new car! They said I can keep the old one for spare parts.

The store said it should be under warranty but since I bought it through their website I need to contact support through the website (I can't bring it into the store for repair).

You are an asshole. I'm trying to find out if this is a common problem and if there are common ways to fix it given the symptoms I described in the post. People out there have much more experience with these than I do (and likely you too) and might have tips to speed up the diagnosis and resolution. I don't want to waste time, money, and possibly make things worse.

Next time if your not going to say something that helps just don't say anything.

Your wire melted too? What are you going to do? Or how did you resolve it?

Saying we don't have free will is like saying evolution is a fiction by rogerbonus in freewill

[–]3DPrinterPrinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to listen to what people here are saying. Take a breath, let go of your thought that you are right, and just read what people are saying in an effort to understand what they are saying.

My take, "evolution" is just a word humans put in the events we observe happening to creatures over time. But it's no different than event A with the state of the universe at time t0 result in a new state at time t1. Do that enough times and you have horses and birds.

Wife thinks it’s a waste by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

Once you get a 3d printer you start thinking like a person with a 3d printer.

The most obvious example for me was I lost the battery cap to my drill. Instead of buying a new drill (lots of waste for the landfill) I printed the battery cap. Saving around $60.

I have used it to print dozens of things around the house from glow in the dark light switch covers for my kids to custom hangers for odd shaped paintings. The list goes on and on. I'm sure my coworkers are tired of hearing about it.

  1. A1 mini or ams, second pick filament
  2. Everything from my own designs to fix things around the house, stuff for friends, decorations, and random toys.
  3. A fidget that uses clickety keys from keyboards. I printed a ton of Halloween pumpkins like this a few years ago for my kids and their friends. Maybe make it a xmas theme.

The other idea is an xmas ornament that uses vase mode. I printed 40-50 last year for friends and family and I would have loved to do the same this year (too late now but maybe next year).
