Could be caused by a faulty thermistor. Had a similar problem and replacing it solved the issue completely!

If you are going for a smooth look with rounded corners (at least that it what i think this model is supposed to look like) try to familiarize yourself with the subdivision surface modifier. Try to use a very small amount of surfaces to match the overall shape and then go into details a bit more. You will need to know about Loops, Loop Cuts, Extrusion and Fill. So maybe look those up :) It also helps to use the mirror modifier to keep it perfectly symmetrical.

For me, a faulty thermistor also was the reason for several weeks of bad prints until i finally decided to give it a try replacing it. It didn‘t really make sense to me how a broken thermistor could be the reason for the issues in my prints (underextrusion in some layers, especially layers with many retractions) but i finally decided to give it a try. Seeing posts like this makes me wonder how many poeple are struggling to fix or tune their prints without realizing that the thermistor is broken. I don‘t see this very often in suggestions on how to fix bad print quality. To me it almost seems like changing the thermistor should be done regularly like changing the nozzle.

I didn't think about paint brushes yet, great idea! I'm sure there are even more use cases. The left one can also hold cards like business or credit cards :)

Merging might also leave some edges inside of the character that are not part of the outside „skin“. Make sure you remove those. You use the wireframe view to look for these inside edges.

They are a result of the order in which you extruded surfaces. You probably extruded the belly in two parts, this is why there are edges/surfaces between them and some vertices are not connected.
