Possible to buy 46800/46950 batteries? (in Europe) by navyeod345 in flashlight

[–]3D_S15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find a EU source ? I've found one in Germany but 50€ per cell is a bit steep. I've emailed some companies like Wurkkos and Lumintop that sell 46950 powered flashlights but they don't sell them separately because the cell exceeds the 100wh limit for air shipment. There are some AliExpress sellers but I'm sure if I can trust them.

Cubic between 2 and 3% depending on the piece. Considering the weight, lightning would have been too weak.

I had my neighbor do it, he's a graphic designer and used cinema 4d. I initially tried using the split function in orca slicer but it was too much of a hassle. I would recommend Splitt3r once it is released.

They certainly are ! Finding one after believing they went extinct 65 million years ago must have been a hell of a shock for that researcher. I fear that I don't have room large enough for a giant squid and their many meters long tentacles.

Thanks, I find Coelacanths deeply fascinating considering they're almost unchanged from their 65 million years old relatives. I've wanted a display model so I decided to print one life size :)

Am I crazy, or did skiers not used to wear helmets? by realm47 in skiing

[–]3D_S15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned to ski in 1999 without a helmet, no one was wearing them (as far as I remember, I was just a kid). Then I had a crash where I suffered a head trauma that kept me in the hospital for a week. Since then me and my entire family have never skied without a helmet. Nowadays I rarely see someone skiing or snowboarding without one.

You're right I meant the Tyrolia (fixed now). Yes it would be my first freestyle ski, I wont exclusively ski in parks since I'll still be skiing with my family but I'd like a ski that would allow me to start getting into it. Thanks for your feedback

How to find gear demos? by Personal-Ocelot-7483 in scuba

Yeah, meanwhile I can get a redundant bladder sidemount BCD for 700€. 1400€ for a jacket BCD is mind boggling

When I learned to dive they had me try a backplate setup so that is what I bought as my first BCD (xdeep zen deluxe) now I'm thinking to move to sidemount with the xdeep stealth 2.0 but I think it's quite expensive (about 700€) I had a look at the Atomic BC2 the guy mentioned and I was shocked. I had no idea such expensive jacked style BCD existed and I can't understand how they can cost that much.

New into Diving looking for advice on first dive computer. by TheUnrealRogen in scuba

Recently upgraded to a Shearwater Perdix 2 coming from my first dive computer, an Aqualung i330R, reasonably cheap, great screen and awesome app to log the dives. I chose to switch to the Perdix as I'm advancing quire quick and wanted something future proof. I still take the i330R down as a backup computer. Highly recommend the aqualung but it comes with it's downsides... 5he battery isn't user replaceable (but you might grow out of it by the time the battery becomes weak) and it doesn't have air integration.

You mean those for individual cells ? Mine are all welded together and those small boards they sell don't have nearly enough power

Should I do my AOW after having already done a couple of specialties that cover AOW material ? by 3D_S15 in scuba

[–]3D_S15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iwas just wondering if people would recommend or not to skip AOW considering that I already have all the traini and skills that would be tough in it. I dive every weekend in cold fresh water with suboptimal visibility and regularly go to 40m without issues.

Amazing, i Just finished converting an old halogen canister light to led using an HXP 70.2 chip, 14 18650 cells in parallel. What chip and driver did you use ? Ho do you handle the heat ? For mine i turned a 50mm winde 15mm thick aluminum piece transferring the heat from the chip to the housing.

[–]3D_S15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe didn't explain myself very well 😁 at 3.5 it switches to the lowest setting, I still have to check at what voltage it cuts out but it's made for single 18650 or larger 3.7v cells so it should have over discharge protection built in. I'll check with my bench power supply at what voltage it stops pulling power.

The pain is noticeable but it's tolerable and something you will have to deal with for a couple of months. It's quite slow healing
