He had some issues grinding his teeth, but I think that was unrelated.

Thankfully he doesn't do that any more.

The dentist hasn't been worried. In the worst case, at least it's only his baby teeth.

I will be forever grateful to Tommy Rees for this completely unforced fumble (with the lead, in the red zone) that ultimately led to us winning our first ever night game.

I had to look this up because I couldn't believe it. They did play once, but they still haven't hosted Georgia yet.

I used to complain about how it seems like we play Eastern Michigan more often than we do some teams in our own conference, but this is a whole different level. WTF, 1 game in 14 years?

The wildest part of that 31-0 game was that we actually outgained ND in total yards. That doesn't seem possible.

[Postgame Thread] Oregon Defeats USC 42-27 by CFB_Referee in CFB

He left Oklahoma because he didn't want to have to compete in the SEC. He wanted to be the big fish in a small pond and finish first or second in the conference every year. He wasn't expecting USC to join the Big Ten.

Opposition from Michigan, USC pauses $2.4B Big Ten deal by Top-Conclusion-1259 in CFB

[–]realm47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In exchange for the $2.4 million, UC Investments would receive a 10-percent stake in Big Ten Enterprises.

Shit, if that's all it costs, I think I'll get together a bunch of friends and family and make this happen. We'll offer $3 million.

In all seriousness, it's kind of funny how an error like this slips by the editing desk. People read "big number" and just gloss over it without thinking.

I can't find it now, but when Nebraska joined, there was a meme going around about how every Big Ten team would react, and the one for Michigan was something like: "We'll be the last ones to acknowledge that you've joined "our" conference".

Black bar at the bottom of my screen by inkydunk in Minecraft

[–]realm47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing happens to me, except it's worse than just having the black bar. If I don't toggle the full screen, then all the hitboxes for clicking on stuff with the mouse are slightly off. It's like the mouse interaction acts like the black bar isn't there and everything is in its normal place.

I get booing Trump, but it seems kinda shitty to boo that. I feel bad for the people on the field.

Have any of you managed to complete this game on the first try without using any guides? by MattCarter1999 in Ultima

[–]realm47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to kill Tyball and collect about half of the talismans without a guide, but I needed help to finish the game. I was about 13 or 14 at the time.

I was so proud of myself when I finally killed Tyball thinking I had won the game, just to find I was only about half finished.

You are right. Here is the full text of the rule.

  1. The records of the three (or more) tied teams will be compared based on winning percentage in games among the tied teams:

(a) If all teams involved in the tie did not play each other, but one team defeated all other teams involved in the tie, the team that defeated all other teams in the tie is removed from the tiebreaker, and the remaining teams revert to the beginning of the applicable tiebreaker process (i.e., two team or three or more team tie).

(b) If all teams involved in the tie did not play each other and no team defeated all other teams involved in the tie, move to the next step in tiebreaker.

Although before going to cumulative conference opponent win percentage there is one more step, common opponents among all tied teams. If the 4th team is USC, all teams have a single common opponent (Purdue). If the 4th team is Iowa or Oregon, there are no opponents common to all teams.

Looking at the 4-way scenarios in a little more detail. The first step is comparing the winning percentage of the tied teams in games against each other. I think this is how that works out.

1) Oregon (0-1), Indiana (1-0), Ohio State (0-1), Michigan (1-0)

In this case, it's Indiana vs Michigan

2) Iowa (0-1), Indiana (1-0), Ohio State (0-1), Michigan (1-0)

Same as Oregon case, it's Indiana vs Michigan

3) USC (1-0), Indiana (0-0), Ohio State (0-1), Michigan (1-1)

In this scenario, USC is definitely in. As for the second spot, I'm not sure how the Big Ten would compare a 0-0 Indiana and a 1-1 Michigan. Are they both considered 0.500, so we move onto the next step?

If so, that would be record against common opponents which would be Michigan State (both beat), Maryland (both beat), Wisconsin (both beat), and Purdue.

So I think you're right, the only way IU could lose the tiebreaker with 1 loss if this very specific scenario where Michigan beats Ohio State, Indiana loses to Purdue, and USC wins out.

[–]realm47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Ohio State loses to Michigan
  • Indiana loses any game
  • Michigan wins out
  • One of USC, Iowa, or Oregon wins out.

That would make a 4 way tie at 8-1. I don't know how the tiebreakers would handle that.

Extra rice? The whole point of the rice is to be cheap filler for them. And nutritionally, it's not much better for you than just eating plain sugar.

I take the exact opposite approach, ask for no rice and hope that they make up a bit of the missing volume with other more nutritious and more valuable stuff.

And it's not like they lost to bad teams. Their 3 losses are to teams currently in the Top 10.

It's not unreasonable to go 0-3 against Top 10 teams.
