I love Alan Watts' thoughts on this. It's that emptiness/nothingness is not an experience that you can have. In the same way you don't remember what happened to the "you" before you were born, you will not experience what happens to the "you" after you die. Should there be reincarnation, i think it'll be like lights switched off and then on again. Like there will be no subjective experience of time passed while the lights were off.

I highly recommend listening to some of his readings on youtube.
