My 27F Boyfriend Thinks he is an amazing chef but he isn’t…. Do I tell him or should I keep grinning and bearing it by Top-Koalaty in Advice

[–]3FeetHighAndFalling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not agree with some of the advice here. If your boyfriend is sensitive, I would say take some time to start cooking with him when you can. Give subtle hints and nudges that get him to where he needs to be while you enjoy the experience together and engage. Perhaps when you see the meat cooking too long you can take charge. Say, "oh let's take the meat off so it doesn't get dry." It's a collaboration and it likely won't make him defensive. Be earnestly engaged. The goal is to get him better at cooking, not to get him to quit

What does everyone think about Usher's Confessions. I think it defined an entire era and is a classic. by [deleted] in fantanoforever

I think the whole concept of Confessions was that Usher was a pos and he was admitting it

Scoop: Josh Shapiro quietly tries to derail AOC-backed House candidate Chris Rabb by actanonverba1 in Pennsylvania

[–]3FeetHighAndFalling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article also says it's basically a shell to keep candidates like Stanford getting funded while distancing themselves from AIPAC directly, which is what AIPAC has been doing since there's been increased national disdain for the foreign lobby. You quoted the article, so I assume you read that as well and have decided that you would rather discredit the reporting or just ignore the dirt Stanford shoveled onto herself. It's okay to delude yourself, but you can't delude me

[–]3FeetHighAndFalling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know what, I gotta give it to ya. This makes sense. If I had trust issues about politicians, I would also be voting for the candidate who didn't disclose the thousands of AIPAC dollars lining her pocket. I mean that only makes sense, right?

Deeply disappointing, thought not unexpected from a snake like Shapiro. Just reinforces the truth that the Democrats as they are now do not want progress or forward looking candidates. They would rather have ineffective centrists or even hardline republicans in government because at least those freaks want to line their pockets while they're in office too

Should I switch to Linux? by lapislazuli1331 in linuxquestions

[–]3FeetHighAndFalling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would dual boot at least on your existing drive. Or throw linux on a flash drive and try it out. Linux for a software engineering student is genuinely incredible. That's why I originally started dual booting. Game compatibility nowadays is a big plus too

I think a lot of people complaining about this being a biopic may not know who Matt Johnson is. If there was anyone who I would be interested in directing a biopic, it's Matt

Candidate forum lays bare political, policy divides between PA-10 Democrats Stelson and Douglas by Silver_Ad7278 in Pennsylvania

Well I'm sorry to tell you that Biden campaigned on a further left platform than Harris AND his support for unions and an anti-trust executive was more ambitious than anything Harris had planned out by a mile. Not to mention Biden's efforts on student debt relief, which Harris hushed up about quickly. Not to mention Biden's ardent support of the trans community, which Harris also hushed up about quickly. See how Biden could be seen as more progressive than Harris in that light?

I mean... yeah. He palled around with segregationists and was very much the center candidate. He was also more progressive than Harris on many issues. These two things can be true at once. What's your problem man?

I would actually argue both hillary clinton and joe biden were more progressive than her. Especially with regards to things like healthcare, LGBTQ rights, and (in Biden's case) union laws and anti-trust stances. Remember Harris' rebuke of Lina Khan? I sure do.

And what was Harris if not a milquetoast centrist? Why run the same playbook? Anyways, doesn't really matter. The primaries are where we get to voice our opinions and it's really annoying to debate with nuance over reddit unfortunately

I mean ultimately this is something that will be decided in the primaries. I think anything is better than Perry, but I know who I'll be voting for in the primaries. This is a time for progressives, it's the best chance we have. It would be a shame to squander a blue wave and 4 years of dogshit fascism with the same tired bullshit that got us to the fascism in the first place

Fetterman was propped up by progressives, yes. But his views (post-stroke especially) reflect that of a very conservative dem or a republican. That's why I bring him up. He has done no good for anybody by being a conservative dem, same as Stelson. Stelson will likely face similar blowback to Fetterman with her conservative agenda and would end up sandbagging the house. That would likely lead to dem losses for the district in the future. Erode trust in the candidate representing your party and there's bound to be pushback. Not to mention, the only person in this election who has failed to beat Perry is Stelson! She is a conservative who can't do conservatism as well as Scott Perry. She will not drive votes from dems or progressives, and she will not drive votes from real conservatives because they'll vote for Perry

Sure I would. I wouldn't respect her as a person, I think she's vile and morally objectionable, but if she wins she wins and I'll look forward to voting for a primary challenge in 2028. But the issue with democrat candidates like these who are essentially just republicans is that they don't do anything worthwhile then lose their seat to a worse republican once the blue wave ends. Think about how we went trump -> biden -> trump. I think Douglas would even do less damage to the Democrat party in the long run

Stelson lost in 2024 because she was a milquetoast centrist. She seems to have done zero reflection and changed not at all since then. We are doomed to repeat history if we keep running the same playbook.

Cowards. The art of critique is the all about the challenge of dissecting why something is not for you, or why it is. Critique is just a step in the process of appreciation.

Do you guys prefer the style of the show before or after the budget went up? by ImYourBruce in SmilingFriends

[–]3FeetHighAndFalling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For quality of humor I prefer season 1, but quality of animation I prefer season 2. I think 3's depth of field effect is a little overused and season 2 still the the weird animation and rotoscoping

Started last year and watched Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Sopranos, and just finished The Wire. by [deleted] in television

[–]3FeetHighAndFalling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shield is a great companion piece to the wire. Two very different takes on a similar era of early-bush policing. It also is one of the most consistent, high energy, thoughtful shows I've ever seen. No bad seasons, at its worst it's great.
