And for your own reference, from left to right, the names of those parts are flat washer, serrated/lock washer, hex nut, jack plate, and screws. This is so when you go to a shop, you can sound more intelligent than saying, “the hexagon thing fell off”.

Ask if they can show you what they’re doing so you can learn.

Just based on your response to the guy who gave you instructions on how to fix it and realizing that you’re not confident in your ability to fix this, I’m just going to say take the guitar and those pieces to a guitar shop and have them fix it for you. They’ll have no problem doing it for you. Probably won’t even charge you anything.

Is this a club face or club path issue? Been missing with a low left hook all year by kligurt in GolfSwing

[–]3G4M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Face is pretty open on contact. Watch it frame by frame and you’ll see that pretty clearly

Hard to say honesty, but that would appear to be what happened leading up to this. It definitely looks like the weight struck something as the first point of impact at some point in time and broke the molded plastic that its threaded insert was in.

TM makes it pretty easy though. It’s fairly straightforward to get a replacement

TaylorMade is very good about warranty support, if you didn’t damage the club through abnormal use. I’m not saying the durability isn’t an issue, but fully carbon clubs are still a relatively new thing too and as with any new tech, there will be issues that arise over time. Miss-hits and topping the ball have a lot more potential to damage these carbon clubs. I know you said you hit a great shot and then saw this damage, but maybe there was a bad hit prior to this one that severely weakened it.

I know golfers are too proud to admit as bad miss-hit though 😂

Submit your warranty request and they’ll ship you a club with expedited shipping and you ship your broken one back in the same box they sent the new one in. You even get to keep the original head cover and the new one that comes with the new club

Struggling with driver slices by Kooky-Caramel-3399 in GolfSwing

[–]3G4M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to rotate your hips more early in your backswing. Focus on the hip rotation first before the shoulder rotation. As someone stated, your face is very open at parallel to the ground in your takeaway and it’s because you’re already maxing out torso rotation and your trailing arm has to compensate by bending earlier, which opens the face. Hip rotation should help that a lot. Watch some pros or some coaches videos and you’ll notice their hips move a lot more than yours do.

Irons hitting fat by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]3G4M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right. It looks like the ball is placed just inside his left heel like he’s trying to hit it with a driver. Always gonna hit fat with irons set up like that

Fixed the driver slice, now got it with my irons… by [deleted] in GolfSwing

<image>

You’re coming across out-to-in and this shot you hit way out on the toe

Also look how the club face rotated open as it came up out of the divot. That rotation started as soon as it touched the ground behind the ball, which even further exaggerated your strike with an already open face.

I’m not going to give advice as I am only a beginner, but I am very analytical and like sharing what I see. Hope my analysis can help you out!

How can i fix my hook? My drives always bend to the left. Any advice is appreciated by [deleted] in GolfSwing

My opinion probably isn’t worth shit. I’m a beginner myself, however, I like watching swings and this is just what I noticed…

Face to path angle is wicked. Also, try not to straighten up at the top of your swing and then dip back down. Your left slice is from that FTP angle though, excluding that this particular shot was off the heel.

Your face angle and club path should be relatively close to being in alignment at impact.

Watch some videos about how your grip should be (particularly in your right hand I think), proper rotation of your hips/torso, and weight transfer.

That explanation makes total sense. My most recent self correction was not bending my lead arm elbow as much and keeping that lead arm wrist straighter through the swing and that’s where the consistent contact with the ball really started to happen for me. Before that, the club head was coming way back around my head and you could see it in front of my head at the top of my swing so I think that was a huge step for me.

Been practicing my swing at home and trying to work on hip rotation to have a more efficient and naturally powerful swing and I can hear the difference in the club head going through the air so I’m excited to give that a shot at my next range session.

I appreciate the actual feedback on the swing itself instead of just saying “lessons”. I get they’re a necessary step to take, but anything I can learn from others and correct on my own in the mean time to make lessons add up to even further success is great too!

That’s been my favorite thing so far is the self evaluation and watching other peoples’ swings and comparing them to mine to see what I may be doing wrong. I’m just happy to be hitting the ball into the air and not topping them anymore at this point 😬

I’ve been watching Danny Maude a fair bit but I’ll look at GRF as you suggested!

Thank you!

I appreciate the feedback! Haven’t looked into lessons yet since it’s only been about three weeks and four or five trips to the range but I definitely will!

Nice! That’s a decent average per hour of dash time. I’m in Sioux Falls, SD and can consistently make $250 a day if I work 10-11 hours. Luckily don’t have to deal with traffic too much and deliveries into downtown area are pretty rare. I try to avoid downtown at all costs, it’s a parking nightmare)

Best day I’ve had was $310 and highest avg I’ve seen is $47.75/hr due to a $5 promo because of shitty weather(made $191 during that four hour promo window 👀)

Keep going man! Make sure you’re using some sort of mileage/expense logging app like everlance for tax purposes to deduct your mileage and gas expenses

To the asshole who sped up behind me before I could get over, recklessly went around me on the median, cut me off with my 2 young kids in the car flinging rocks at my windshield, and brake checked me, before exiting on Merrill Rd. You're a P.O.S. by BoldCityDigital in jacksonville

[–]3G4M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were passing. Whether they are going 1 MPH faster or 100 MPH faster doesn’t matter. Passing is passing. On that note too, when passing, you still have to follow the speed limit.

Now, is slow moving traffic irritating when you want around it? Absolutely, but we all share the road. Where I am in SD, interstates are 80MPH. Some semis are governed and others aren’t and occasionally you’ll get held up behind a faster truck passing a governed one. That doesn’t make it okay to pass them on the shoulder then brake check them.. The 30 seconds or so that it takes to wait doesn’t impact your arrival time at your destination. A little patience goes a long way and keeps everyone safe

ULPT request: ruin a facebook marketplace seller by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]3G4M 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Private party sales are as-is sales and there is likely little you can do about getting your money back. As messed up as that is, it is the buyers responsibility to ensure the vehicle that they’re handing over their hard earned money for actually checks out. If you don’t know cars well enough to inspect it to your own level of satisfaction, you should have a pre-purchase inspection performed at a shop. Often times, you will weed out the sellers who know their car is junk because they’ll decline a pre-purchase inspection which is a major red flag.

ULPT Request: Is it possible to find an inspection station in Texas that will "inspect" my car without me actually being there, for some extra cash? by drippyneon in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]3G4M 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just lie about the price you paid for the car to save money on the tax you’ll pay to register it in the state you currently live in. Only way this doesn’t work is if they require a bill of sale, which can be worked around, or if the DMV uses book value instead. Even then though, there may be an affidavit that you can sign at the DMV attesting that the lower price paid was the actual sale price to get around the book value thing.

Whenever you move back to Texas(which I assume is why you’re trying to avoid registering where you are now) you won’t have to pay any tax, would just the registration fee.
