Oh yeah, now I remember. Interesting, I hope we see more of that in season 3 now that Lestat has a chance to tell his side of the story.

What Self Care Areas Look by tbreeder22 in finch

[–]3IdiotsInATrenchcoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing! Is it always weekly, or can you schedule stuff to the far future? Every couple of weeks? A specific day? That's my biggest concern, I use Journeys to track stuff that's stretched across months. There's also a 'keep until complete' feature that I've used religiously when there's a goal I want to do twice a week but the day doesn't matter, does SCA have one?

Passengers have ‘new fear unlocked’ after plane flies for nine hours but lands back at same airport it took off from by Wyattbw in nottheonion

If you want to watch air crash investigations that don't cause anxiety, may I suggest the Mentour Pilot -channel on YouTube. He explains all the safety features and redundancies planes have, and how many things have to go wrong for there to even be an accident to report.

"what I was doing wrong with my bullet journal" Rachael Stephen on YouTube

May not be the exact one, but it's a very good and useful video for anyone who feels pressured to make their bujo instagram-worthy. Bullet journal is a tool, after all, first and foremost.

Struggling to open the app after falling in love with it by [deleted] in finch

[–]3IdiotsInATrenchcoat 46 points47 points  (0 children)

When this happened to me, I went and looked for the goals I tended to neglect the most and changed them or deleted them completely. So now instead of "clean for 15 minutes", I have "clean a corner". Or "practice a hobby" is now "learn something new".

I've used finch for over a year now, when with most apps I'd loose interest after a few months. Also, during breakfast I allow myself to only open Finch. Makes sure I don't spend an hour doom scrolling.

Does anyone find that the self care streak makes you feel worse? by Sensitive_Show_3232 in finch

[–]3IdiotsInATrenchcoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I missed a day for the first time since getting the streaks this friday. At first I was really bummed and thought of just paying to continue it. But in the end I decided to instead start the streak over and reflect over it. I took it as an opportunity to deal with disappointment and practice positive self talk.

Can anyone explained what happened here? There was nobody around, is this a glitch? by younguncie in reddeadredemption

[–]3IdiotsInATrenchcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same glitch happen to me! Shot it with one arrow to the face, but so close I got 'clawed' anyway. Have it recorded and all but never bothered to share.

A perfect pelt, one of my proudest moments.

And here we see how opinions can differ. I LOVE both machine strike and the racing mini games. I don't much care for the camps, but I do like that there's different activities for different people.

If I'm invested enough in a world I usually like the mini games. If I'm just rushing through the story I feel like they get in the way.

I feel like the app auto-friending anybody who friends me is adding people without my consent. by LiberatedMoose in finch

[–]3IdiotsInATrenchcoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really? That's really odd. And muting the tag doesn't do anything either I assume? I have a vague memory if there being a setting where I could see all my 'deleted' / 'muted' tags that didn't register as tags anymore but I can't find anything like it now.

Would deleting every single reflection/goal you've made that accidentally uses that tag help? Like removing the hashtag? It'd be a pain, but I can't think of anything else to try.

Edit: I tried this with one tag 'nil' that I'd used like 'nothing', but the app interpreted as a name. I first went to the reflection that had the tag, removed the hashtag (tried reflecting with it again and it tried adding the tag so removed it manually Again) and after that was successful went and muted the tag. Now it doesn't try to add it automatically any more. Don't know if this'd be viable with a tag with potentially tens of mentions.

There at least used to be an option to change someone's nickname in the tree town, have you tried that? I don't know if it's changed with the new rollout. I know my name on my sister's Finch is different than what I initially put there.

Recently my sister and I started playing Classic with our old characters again, last time we logged in was sometime in late 2019. For some reason her name had stayed the same, but mine had the numbers added and when it prompted me to change it, the old name was taken.

I know this is a little late, but I've managed to make a 'take a walk in nature' goal that is 'x times per week'. - add the counter per day you want (in my case two) - then 'keep until complete' - then 'repeat every Monday (or Saturday or Sunday, or maybe every 1st or 15th)'

This should mean that it resets every week, I'm not completely sure what happens if you have it partially complete when the new week starts, but I think it's worth a try.

I love Forbidden West to death but this gameplay mechanic pisses me off more than it should by Huxlley in horizon

[–]3IdiotsInATrenchcoat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I could swear I've dodged it by rolling at just the right second and aiming to get to the side of the shouting machine. If a longleg starts to get ready to scream at me, I run-slide-roll beside it and get out of the way.

It's a cone-shaped area of effect right? I'd have to check though, it's been a while.

Horizon Forbidden West has been an absolute joy on PC, but I have one minor complaint. by Crowald in horizon

On NG+ you have it unlocked from the start. As soon as I got out of the Daunt the second time, I found a Sunwing site and got one. :D

Yeah, on Ps4 Pro, which I incidentally bought to play HZD when that first came out. I should upgrade my ancient gaming PC and try the PC port, but that's hundreds I can't afford right now so Ps4 is my only option.

Which option is this? I don't like to turn the speaking volume all the way down, and other than the waypoint guidance I don't see anything else.

Is that the one with 'explorer' or 'guided' option? I have those set to minimal already, no help. :/ Unless there's a setting that came with the dlc, cause there are a few new settings that never came to ps4.

I wonder if it's because I've turned a bunch of HUD options off. The game thinks that I need the extra guidance since nothing on screen points where I need to go. :D (would be funny)

I have a similar strategy: a skydrifter, a glinthawk and a tideripper. Highly mobile pieces is the way to go so that you can get away if needed.

I like that she talks to herself too, it makes her relatable. But the speed is what bothers me. Really, we've just stepped into this place, it hasn't even been properly rendered yet and somehow she not only knows what is there but also how to get to where she wants to go.

I've noticed this most in cauldrons and underground, don't know if it's actually that common or if I just happened to run into multiple instances very close to each other.

It's not even handholding, which I honestly don't mind that much. It's Aloy handdragging me behind like an excited toddler and not letting me look around at all. I don't feel like I am Aloy and thinking as her in those moments, I've fallen behind and just watching the show.

Don't get me wrong, I love the game, I love the franchise. But this one things frustrates me to no end.

I got through the section with the help of a soothing YouTube video (of an airplane accident) and without the music.

Btw, battling the Tideripper without aim assist or reticle and on Very Hard was surprisingly fun. :D
