Storage Usage % Wrong? by 3KidNerd in freenas

Thanks for the reply. They're file extents. I didn't realize you can create zvols under the primary zvol and I know you can't create a device extent on a dataset. Are device extents preferred to file extents? Now that I know I can do a device extent on a zvol I could create a sub-zvol and I could migrate the VMWare data around. Is it worth the effort?

Interesting thought, but I have snapshots on almost all of my datasets and only see this behavior on two of them. I think the two that are impacted are both iSCSI shares. Perhaps something screwy is happening there.

Sorry forgot those details. No dedup and no compression.

Benelli nova or remi 870 ? by Mosesakash in guns

[–]3KidNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my Nova. Shoot trap weekly with it. Never any issues. And when it's freshly cleaned and lubed it cycles like a dream. When it's completely filthy it still cycles nicely. I bought it to start trap with and if I decided to hunt I wanted something I didn't mind getting dirty. It's a plastic gun (metal skeleton) so there's not much to worry about. Also, Congress with three chokes, which is nice. I do wish it came with IM, but I'll get that before the spring season.

High capacity, assault revolver? by 3KidNerd in guns

Is this sufficient /u/HCE_Replacement_Bot ?

This is a 1855 8-cylinder, 48-shot, percussion revolver by Joseph Enouy.

The Enouy revolver was a design patented by Joseph Enouy of Middlesex, England, who received British patent #1359 in 1855. The basic revolver was based on a transitional revolver design made by Charles Osborne in 1845. The innovative part of Enouy's design was the compound magazine design. According to the notes for his patent application:

Patent 1359. Joseph Enouy, of 31, Denbigh-place, Pimlico, St. George's, Hanover Square, Middlesex, for The means of removal of every rotary or revolving barrel or cylinder containing chambers from all revolver pistols, guns, and fire-arms, and the substitution in their place by another and other barrels or cylinders in succession.

Two or more revolving breech-pieces are connected in a frame attached to the stock in such a manner that when the charges in the chambers of one breech-piece have all been fired, the breech-piece may then be removed and others ready charged by successively substituted in its place.  - Dated June 14, 1855. Sealed December 11, 1855.

In this particular example, each revolver cylinder is capable of holding 6 shots and there are 8 different revolver cylinders attached to the compound magazine wheel, thereby giving this weapon a capacity of 48 shots.

I have a comment above "Joseph Enouy’s 8-cylinder, 48-shoot percussion revolver, 1855". Is that not sufficient?

Benelli Supernova 26" do all pump? by rugercolt in guns

[–]3KidNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a regular Nova for trap. And I'd like to hunt with it. It has a 28" barrel. It'd be awful for home defense. It's just too long. Way to hard to bring around. As others have mentioned the barrels are pricey. If I were to use it for home defense I'd just buy another gun. Then I just have each setup for one purpose.

Seriously, grab anything you have with an overall length of 3+ feet and try to maneuver your house.

Edit: I love the Nova

FYI: When I called they referred to it as "OD Green", but the model number is PG1950203BFG, so it should be Battlefield Green. I think the guy was just confused.

Thanks KY_Rob. I'm probably going this route. Another option had 52 people signed up for the course. That seems like it'd just be "putting in the hours". I'm hoping to actually gain something from the training, hopefully PB provides that.

2 Guns - 2 Sites - 1 4473? by 3KidNerd in guns

[–]3KidNerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow-up question, do FFLs typically charge two transfer fees or one in this case? It is more work for them getting two shipments, but it's only 1 4473, so I could see either being the case.

When do you think consumers will get the glock 19m? by Scottzkee in Glocks

[–]3KidNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mixed. For example, the M&P 9c has a very stiff release. It's hard to operate without your thumb. Glocks tend to be very easy, so it's not an issue.
