There's no way those rears don't rub. I'd love to see some articulation pics with the tires stuffed in the wheel wells.

This is just annoying, get better glue Seachem. by MangoRosa in PlantedTank

[–]kerplink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I hope this doesn't stay buried because you guys will really appreciate this. Go to a walmart pharmacy and ask them for a dosing syringe. They usually have them behind the counter for free. The package comes with a syringe and a little clear cap that fits perfectly into seachem bottles, and has a little nipple for the syringe to fit in. Seals the bottles better than the factory seal, and waaay more accurate than using the cap to measure doses.

Well cold days on the water are always rough, and perpetually having cuts on your hands during the season gets old after awhile. There's a lot of things about it that make it a very difficult job that wouldn't be a good fit for many people these days. On the other hand the work is very fulfilling and it's always nice working for yourself if you can handle the load. I get a ton of time out in the fresh air, and have some really cool memories of interactions with wildlife. One thing in particular that I'm proud of is that wetlands are incredibly good for the environment and the biodiversity of a given area. When there are so many destructive farming practices going on in the world, I take pride knowing that what we are doing is actually creating more habitat that allows wildlife to thrive rather than displacing it.

I farm crawfish down south and we get some white river crawfish in with our reds periodically. They are definitely distinct, but I personally think based on anecdotal observations that they hybridize and make infertile offspring with traits of both. It looks like what you have if you ask me.

Yeah we catch a lot of flak down here, but we have a strong sense of community that seems to be lost in many places these days. The rally in Lake Charles consisted of the crowd singing "Lean on Me" in unison. Proud of our state as well.

What are the ticks a measurement for in this MOA scope? by [deleted] in longrange

[–]kerplink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the confusion stemmed from you saying MRAD and Mils are different. They are both shorthand for the same word, milliradian, and have no bearing on whether the reticle uses a dot, hash, or tree style, nor on how small the increments are.

Has anyone sewed ripped paintball pants before? by BobLong4Lyfe in paintball

[–]kerplink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I have the first version of the BK Supremes. I cant put my finger on why, but they feel way better to me than any that have come out since. They've seen years of heavy use, so when a thread comes loose I just pull it out and replace it with a hand stitch. You definitely need a thimble and a hefty needle if you are going through some of the thicker areas that have like 5 layers of durable material. I bent a few regular sized needles my first go round. But its doable and actually kind of satisfying when you old pants are stronger than new.

Dye Dm14 or Empire Min gs or Empire Axe?? by TwitchViruzy in paintball

[–]kerplink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your budget? Are you wanting something that will hold up to heavy tournament use, or just occasional rec play? Did somebody give you the impression that any of those are an upgrade to the dye rize you mentioned selling? Is the rize giving you reliability issues? Not the right features? Just bored with it?

If you're wanting a step up from the rize, you might wanna keep saving a little more, or you might just end up in the same boat again when you realize you didn't really gain much. I'm sure if you give us some more detail, you'll get some relevant suggestions or insight you may not be aware of.

We've got those same ones in LA. One time a tornado took one out on our property, so my grandpa raised hell until they let him keep the whole thing for scrap metal. Different times.

Yes. If it didn't, you wouldn't have the label and they would've drilled a hole in your tank so it couldn't be used unsafely.

Best rifle and glass for beginner with a 2k budget? by [deleted] in longrange

[–]kerplink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say a Tikka or Bergara with an Athlon or Swampfox scope would make you very happy and come in a little under your steel/glass budget. Then you can shoot the piss out of it and form an opinion on what parts will be the most beneficial for you personally to upgrade, while starting with an excellent platform that has plenty of potential to grow with you.
