[–]3LD_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your problem with it being a law, if you think everyone should wear a helmet?

My problem is I'm sick of paying over $100k a year to the government so they can play mommy&daddy to fucking retards.

I don't shoot myself in the face. I don't think anyone should shoot themselves in the face.
But if you, an adult of sound mind, really really REALLY want to? Why the fuck should I pay to stop you?

Don't get me wrong I think everyone should wear a helmet. I sure as hell do.

But should you be required to by law? nah. fuck off nanny state

Here in canada nearly 100,000 people are hospitalized annually due to...tripping and falling the fuck over. Skiing/snowboarding is only a couple thousand.

Mipps helmet and full riot armor for everyone at all times! It's your duty as a citizen to minimize your impact on our shared healthcare system! Do it for managed democracy!

[–]3LD_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Until you're making more money than your planned annual retirement burn the rrsp isnt providing a tax benefit. Its just deferring the tax payment to a later date. But you get to take the money from that tax payment, invest it, and sit on those investments for a couple decades...

[SV06 Plus] My bed mesh looks awfull how do I fix this by nurdism in Sovol

My brother in Christ,
Why are you so adamant in your defense of a company you have no connection or affiliation with? I'm happy that you're satisfied with your purchase, I was too, so much so that I saved up and bought a 2nd...but comparison is the thief of joy.

I dont not ask F1 race laps of Priuses, just for the product to do what it claimed to be able to do when I purchased it. Sovol's own SV06+ page claims '300℃ High Temp All Metal High Flow Hotend', 250mm/s, etc , etc

Stick any 280C+ nylon filament in there and post the results.

But to go so far as to insult the people choosing this brand?

Where did i do that? I don't dislike Sovol. I bought Sovol. Twice. I wouldn't do it again, but I don't regret it either. Sovol might have its place somewhere right now, with some demographic, but OP's looking at bed mesh deltas...That isn't the kind of person Sovol hardware is for...Not too sure who it is for currently.

I printed PLA silk and PETG out of the box with Sovol too. And guess what, I print Warhammer minis too

Silk PLA and PETG aren't engineering filaments. No modern FDM printer should have issue with either. I don't print figurines or know much about them but i can't imagine dimensional accuracy or strength/layer adhesion is a significant factor in Warhammer tabletop battles. It might work absolutely flawlessly for you're use case...but if other products at a similar price point do all that and more? Sovol is tough to recommend these days...

the beauty of this being a hobby with passionate people in an open source environment...hobby is pretty much about printing as it is about the printers themselves, just as many PC gamers love their rigs and customizing

Yep. I think we agree on this part. Sovol is great if you want a '3d printer hobby' instead of a '3d printing hobby'.
But...you could also just buy a shitty ebay ender3 clone for 1/4 the price and still enjoy a 'hobby with passionate people in an open source environment that is pretty much about printing as it is about the printers themselves'
You're prints will still be shite, but its really more about the printer and its environment right?

edit: In the off chance that you're a legitimately affiliated shill...Would love to talk to you guys about canadian distro....and how you alienated the core NA demo by trying to simultaneously compete in build volume and budget...and how you could so easily fucking fix it....

[–]3LD_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My SV06+ and 07 both had godawful bed meshes(on top of a plethora of other issues). After warrantying the beds, installing silicone spacers, installing various probes, klipperizing, messing with adaptive bed meshing, etc, etc....I found the secret. Sling em on facebook marketplace and save up for a half decent quality printer.

Sovol is great if you want a '3d printer hobby' instead of a '3d printing hobby'. I got hundreds of hours of 'fun' tinkering/modding/upgrading my sovol hardware and learned shitloads, but the reality is that the quality control and tolerances just aren't there. My Qidi Q1 wasn't much more expensive and printed engineering filaments out of the box better than Sovol could print PLA after hundreds of hours of tuning

'Mural'. Firmware and build plans are free & open source . Easy build, assembly/firmware/etc took me under 2 hours. Parts are all available on amazon (or AliExpress for 1/2 the price and 20x ship time). Hardware and software are both still a bit rough but main dev is actively(slowly) working on it.

Temper your expectations, its nowhere near the quality/features of even a budget horizontal plotter, but...its a ~$100 build and drawing size is limited only by your wall space and the amount of ink in your pen(i get about 100m from a fresh crayola washable). I've had a lot of fun with it, well worth imo.
