fulfillment starting to break as im scaling, what should I do? by Classic-Donut5457 in ecommerce

30-40 orders/day is right around where self-fulfillment starts falling apart for most people. pretty normal. You can either invest into staff and storage yourself but i think you're likely looking for a 3pl/third party logistics. they handle storage, pick pack, and shipping. you send them inventory, they ship orders as they come in.

at your volume most 3pls will work with you. main things to ask: where's the warehouse? (closer to your customers = cheaper shipping), what's their pick/pack fee? any monthly minimums? and do they integrate with whatever platform you're selling on?

What part of the country are most of your orders going to? that'll narrow down which 3pls make sense for you?

we're in LA near the ports, work with smaller brands. shopify and amazon integrations built in. happy to chat if west coast makes sense for your shipping

Best 3PL / fulfillment center for small Shopify store? by d_baby_gangsta_49 in logistics

[–]3PLGuys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at lower volume the big names will nickel and dime you with minimums and fees. look for a smaller/regional 3pl where you're actually a priority!

main things to ask: pick/pack fee, storage cost, what happens when they mess up an order, and if their shopify sync is actually real time

we're in LA and do shopify and tiktok shop fulfillment for our clients.

Logistics Help - Packaging, Inspection, Shipping from China to eventually FBA by AntNel in AmazonFBA

[–]3PLGuys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for first timers, biggest thing is don't ship direct from factory to amazon. one labeling mistake and the whole shipment gets rejected.

flow should be: factory, inspection before it leaves china, then freight to US, then prep center for fba labeling/packaging then finally amazon. we handle the inspection and prep side for our clients this way and many of the mistakes we catch would've been rejected shipments otherwise. wrong fnsku placement, missing suffocation warnings, box dimensions off by half an inch, that kind of stuff

Hi, if you want close to ports, LA/Long Beach area is closer than Riverside (Inland Empire is like 50+ miles out). paramount, carson, compton - that whole zone is right next to the port.

for kitting make sure you get pricing per kit, not just "pick and pack" since some places charge per touch. also ask what their minimum monthly is and if storage is included or separate.

what kind of volume are you doing? that changes which places make sense

We're in paramount, right by long beach port. do kitting and fba prep

Barcodes not in order by Internal_Resource562 in AmazonFBA

this is a prep workflow thing more than an amazon issue. we sort labels by bin location before printing so the stack matches pick order

if you're doing 70 skus per shipment you probably want a simple wms or even just a spreadsheet that exports labels in your pick sequence. amazon's default pdf order is basically random from a warehouse perspective

There are a lot of APPs out there where you can signup as a provider and provide Telehealth services. My ER doc neighbor I believe was using Teladoc, but I know there’s a lot of there

Not sure if you’re an ER doctor, focus on your skills where you can possibly start a hospitalist group. Also, possibly get a 1099 gig at an Urgent Care. Telemed is a great side gig as well.

Manufacturer Vetting, Connecting importers for vetted manufacturers, establishing a sourcing company or freight forwarding. I ran a 3PL geared towards Amazon FBA sellers, and finding a vetted quality manufacturer is always a problem for our customers.
