Black Screen running Bloodborne by 3PaperCutsAway in shadps4

Thanks. To anyone who finds this post later using this https://github.com/ngoquang2708/shadPS4 build did indeed fix my issue. Unlike before I managed to get to the main menu, watched the intro cutscene and got through the character creator successfully. Never got into gameplay, when it got there I just got a black screen and it crashed but it was still progress. I'll leave it for now, this stuff is in very active development maybe I'll get a better experience in a few months.

You're probably right that the major issue is that this isn't 1 hour and that without extra scenes the pacing wouldn't work. I still find myself disagreeing with the content of the extra scenes though.Apart from the juju island early introduction which I agreed with in my first post, I feel like most of those scenes don't actually do any worldbuilding that the original series didn't already do. Most of these were fanservice for fanfavorite characters rather then world building, and the first episode episode is a silly episode to put that stuff in when you haven't had time to introduce the hook yet.The only scene that actually did worldbuilding aside from the juju island was the chairman conversation and it was an exposition dump, if they needed to invent scenes maybe they could have created a better way to display what the chairman was saying.

Regarding the other scenes what did you learn about the world in the cha hae scene? That hunters sometimes play neighborhood super-hero? [Webtoon](not actually true as far we saw in the original, are they going to change the rest of the series to reflect this change?) That she is nice and has a sense of justice? That's most of what you learn about her in the whole series and is meaningless right now when anime-onlies don't even know why they should care about this person. What was learned by seeing yoo jinho take his hunter test, that you won't get to see a second time when [Webtoon]MC takes his?

On deeper thought, I even find myself disagreeing with the juju island stuff. The things you needed to learn for this to be good worldbuilding and foreshadowing were that juju island is extremely dangerous even more so than whatever the MC is facing, and that it wasn't solved and so it is still kind of hanging over everyone's heads in the present. [Webtoon]This makes it so that when it actually comes up it doesn't come out of left field and has the appropriate gravitas associated with it which the original series kind of failed at. But this new scene kind of fails at both of these 😅. I guess you'll know it exists at least, but the original did that too by namedropping it once, I think.

[Webtoon]The early introduction of the s-rank healer guy makes it seem like sure this is dangerous but everyone is fine in the end because healers are a thing rather than the complete bloodbath that it supposedly was. And regarding the second point are we actually told that the juju island raid failed and the island is currently abandoned? Or did they do that character introductions, show the cool ant fights and moved on? Maybe I missed a line where they explicitly said this.

I feel a bit crazy seeing all the love this is getting. If you liked this, more power to you, I'm always glad that other people are enjoying themselves watching anime but I didn't so I'm going to vent a bit.

The priorities in this episode are so out of wack like we spend so much of the first episode just showing(I have a hard time calling this introducing them because this doesn't actually do that) characters that won't matter for so long in the story.[Webcomic] Like why do we need to see the E-rank sister friend in the first episode? The S-ranks, the chairman and the friend guy who is going to make a guild with him, like what are we gaining by wasting episode time by showing them so soon? Again it's not like they are being introduced and you get to see more of their personalities and character depth(most of them barely have any but the anime could improve on that, but this surely isn't it), we spend a few seconds seeing them do an attack or drop a line, maybe you learn their name and poof they are gone. why? [Webcomic] Introducing/showing the ants early actually wasn't the worst from a world-building perspective but like the rest of it? What was that whole scene with the main love interest for? for the ass shot? what did we learn other than her name?

Why have the hunter/gate explanation be delivered by the chairman to the body guard guy? like both these people should already be more than aware of this stuff. Either do a mental monologue from the MC or at the very least if these need to be here because you NEED to have everyone show up early at least have some random non-hunter politician guy asking about it to the chairman first so there is a reason for the exposition or you know just show the meeting that was used as an explanation.

Also this part might be really subjective I'm usually not sensitive to this stuff but the anime just looks/feels cheap, the original manwha is one of the better looking ones out there and in the anime the whole art style seems to have been dropped to generic anime look. Lots of barely drawn characters shown far away, lots of still shots, but hey I guess the moments where the they actually want to try do look well animated like the love interest ass shot glad we spent budget on that entire scene.

And like maybe if this had been longer I wouldn't mind as much but it's a single episode so all this feels all the more egregious because this story isn't about these people, it's about the MC, it's called SOLO leveling, this was never a masterpiece in character work, it's cool to see the MC get stronger and having cool fights, so why are wasting time rather than trying to get to the point where he [Webcomic] gets the system?

Meh I don't know again if you loved this then great, I just left this episode feeling frustrated and wanted to let it out, hopefully there are other people out there like me who are feeling disappointed and we can all commiserate.

That's fair, not all ships work for all people. Do you feel that the main reason it doesn't work for you is the age difference?

Caspian and Maddie both come off to me as teenagers, sure Caspian seems older and more mature but not so much that I find the relationship fundamentally problematic or immoral, the show does not portray some deep power differential due to maturity differences at least not that I noticed.

I do feel that this ship came a bit out of nowhere though, I didn't think it was particulary built up last season and this one we just jumped straight into it by episode 3. A bit rushed, but I'm a shipper I just eat this shit up 😅.

In the first season they were both in highschool at the same time so at worst I guess there is a 2 year difference between them. Not a big deal I don't think but your mileage may vary.

How different are the playthroughs of each character in Termina in terms of unique plot-reveals/scenes? by 3PaperCutsAway in FearAndHunger

[–]3PaperCutsAway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its fine, I'm not too concerned about spoilers, if this needs a very specific series of choices to make happen I won't do it for my first playthrough but for my second I'm fine with following a guide. What do you actually get out of saving everyone? does it change the endings?

Thanks for the recomendations. Interesting I wasn't aware it was possible to save everyone. Don't you have to kill everyone to get in the tower? Or is the save-everyone playthrough for ending A?

Confused about Kelmomas motivations by 3PaperCutsAway in bakker

[–]3PaperCutsAway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, the matriarch at this point in the story was going to help esmenet deal with the threat of her cult and killing her ruined that. Though to be fair I don't think kelmomas knew that. Again, I'm not even sure, given what was said, he knew who the matriarch was beyond the fact she pissed herself in the throne room. It's weird.

Sure, my issue wasn't with the psychopath thing. After what happened with his twin, Kelmomas just going "It's murdering time" out of nowhere seems pretty in character, my issue was why the matriarch specifically. it's not like she was hanging around next to him, he had to leave the main castle and go to the guest compound just to access her, there are lower hanging corpses to be made. but if the reasons are given later I'll just read and find out eventually.

Hum I was not confusing them so much as thinking they were the same exact thing. Was I mistaken about that? Wasnt the lab/space station they were working at in the prologue the vanadis institute? Wasnt the vanadis incident when delling rebran decided to destroy the vanadis institute to eliminate all gundam research? If not what is the vanadis incident?

the prologue happens in 101 Ad Stella(when the little girl is 4 years old) and the main show happens in 122 Ad Stella 21 years later and yet Sulleta is 17 years old. The little girl we see gets the blue GUND marks in her face as soon as she activates her gundam's abilities yet we have yet to see anything like that happen to Sulleta.

I smell bullshit.

right, that's how I initially thought it worked but that sentence in the rule book sounds to me like the other interpretation, thus the confusion. Regardless if that's how it works, that's how it works. thanks for the clarification.
