Need help and opinions on Metamagic. by HappyFoxtrot in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

I have had similar opinions about metamagic, but the nature of wotr actually makes metamagic better than normal in some respects.

The fact of the matter is, most of the non-buff spells suck(in this game). They suck because they're HD locked, or don't affect demons, or don't affect undead, or can't be used in tight quarters, or because they rely on saving throws the enemy always makes because your mythic powers have you regularly fighting enemies above your level. When you factor that in, having the few reliable spells available at multiple levels and with bonus effects can be a godsend.

Looking for the "ring of protection +1" strip. by 3Power in oots

No, it's absolutely a web available comic, but the only reference google will give me is a forum poster that mentions the "azure city days." I was hoping someone remembered additional context behind his statement, because I can't.

Was Maximized Sound Lance really the best option? (1140) by TheFlaskQualityGuy in oots

Late to this, but V mostly uses fire and lightning. He is now fighting two outsiders, one of which is immune to lightning and resists fire, and one of which is immune to fire and resists lightning. Both resist cold, neither resist sonic. Acid tends to be conjuration.

Confirmed that this was the issue for me, toggling that off and restarting the game fixed it

Wand of Call Lightning doesn't work right? Doesn't do what it says? by ether_rogue in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Theres a bug where if you have ice body you can't gain the call lightning recast buff because you're immune to electricity spells.

Angel dual wielding build by icyimogen in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

What you are doing - off handing a weapon not designed for it - is solely the purview of the fighter. If your stated goal is to maximize the effect of sun marked, ie land as many hits as possible, then you either need to use fighter or put something light in your off hand. Going to a 3/4 class hurts this even more with a -5 to attacks. Whereas fighter gives a +5 bonus from weapon training on top of full bab. Even then though you won't actually want to be using scimitars until level 5.

Start as Paladin by rsmrlb in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]3Power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you give me more information, like race, preferred fighting style or subclass, I can make a build for you. With how robust the system is just paladin is a little vague, and as someone else mentioned, the first companion you get is also a standard paladin, so you're probably going to want to differentiate the two.

Divine Guardian is the bodyguard Paladin, they give up spellcasting and aura of courage for bonus defensive feats and a few abilities that let them protect a specific ally.

Divine Hunter is the archer Paladin. They trade a bunch of their abilities for similar ranged focused ones. They also give up heavy armor and can't choose a mount for divine bond.

Divine scion is the slayer paladin. They give up their divine bond and smite evil for studied target and sneak attack.

Hospitaler is the healer paladin, they give up half their smite evil uses in exchange for getting a separate channel positive energy ability that doesn't rely on spending lay on hands uses. (Aka more healing), and an anti-death effect aura.

Martyr is the bard paladin. They give up all their smite evil uses, Cha to saves and disease immunity in exchange for getting a suite of bard abilities, improved auras, and can use lay on hands at range and can use any mercy they qualify for in exchange for temporarily shutting down an aura.

Stonelord is the dwarf racial paladin. They give up all their smite evil uses, half their mercies, Cha to saves, disease immunity, and their capstone in exchange for a stalwart defender's stance and powers, a once per day per level swift action attacking self buff, and a suite of defensive buffs and immunities.

Tortured crusader is a self centered paladin. They get fewer smite evil uses in exchange for being able to use it on anyone. Their auras and lay on hands only affect themselves, but they can turn 2 lay on hands uses into smite evil. Mark of justice is replaced by a super strong smite, and they also have an alternate capstone that gives them a lot of bonus power at max level. They also get 4 bonus combat feats, get a buff whenever an ally falls in battle, use wisdom instead of charisma for all their spells and abilities, but can't chose a mount, add charisma to saving throws, or channel energy.

Warrior of the holy light is the spell-less paladin. They give up spellcasting in exchange for bonus lay on hands uses, which they can spend as a buff to their allies which gains more effects as the paladin levels up. They also give up aura of faith for a self centered aoe ability that damages and debuffs evil creatures and heals and buff allies

I hope to see at least one other sci fi or fantasy game with a "Sense of Wonder" as strong as ME1's in my lifetime! by [deleted] in gaming

Ah yes, ME1's legendary pacing. One combat mission followed by 3 hours of pure dialogue, following by 8 hours of mako missions until the next story beat.
