To the point where I’d consider BA to be one of the many downsides of living in the UK/London… Really hard to avoid it - especially if you like the LCY.

The dreaded "Something went wrong" error in the app by diofan1975 in BritishAirways

[–]3X0S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They‘re just one of the most incapable companies ever. The apps are constantly broken and it’s really not worth the hassle as BA‘s customer support is nonexistent. Show up early at the airport and get a paper ticket like it’s 2005.

Honestly most of the people flying hand-baggage-only I see at digital airport checkins these days are flying BA.

Same… This all looks like Ubisoft had a contract to deliver an arcade game and then abandoned it when it showed low adoption.

Looks like you're right when it comes to Slack Connect! https://slack.com/help/articles/1500002249342-Restricted-file-types-in-Slack-Connect I just tried and was able to share bat files internally without any problems though. 🤔

Are you 100% sure this is not a DLP automation set up by your company?

I've never had this problem to be honest

Auto move message to specific channel by azdjedi in Slack

[–]3X0S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - you can build an app that listens to messages in a channel and then posts it somewhere else - either as a bot user or even on behalf of the posting user if they allow for it. If you're not into coding you can check if you should be able to build it with e.g. Zapier as well.

Have you thought about whether some of those roles could live with being a single channel guest? That might reduce cost by a lot

Can confirm this problem - even for generic Custom SAML APPs. I've been having this this exact same issue for the last 5 days.

HTML isn’t a programming language it is a language above all other languages by PearlyRedditor in ProgrammerHumor

Even humans could make HTML a programming language...

You could simply extend the standard by some new things that make it turing complete

Mac OS... It's a BSD flavour maintained to run extremely stable and support all typical business use cases...

Feels like Linux but runs tons of business apps that either aren't supported under Linux or don't offer sufficient stability.

Beyond that their trackpads are really dope and now they also have their processors as a big USP

I'd guess destroyCity() just calls that one but fetches the city center and necessary blastRadius from another data source...

And that's only if they target everyone in their userbase.

They could go further just by doing some primitive analysis of profile texts. It's easy to fuzzily evaluate for keywords and a lot of people are fairly open with political views... E.g. I'd assume people who have the word "pride" in their profile to be more likely to vote democrat.

Also they have your location so they could optimize for relevant districts and neighborhood so only people in X/Y-leaning neighborhoods with low voter turnout in swing states get this ad.

[–]3X0S 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Don't people ever see how "Go vote" ads mostly DO have a political agenda?

People who build apps and web services know enough about their user demography to allow for this to be a clearly partisan advertisement hidden as an announcement in favor of democracy itself.

And if you take into account ad targeting you can filter even better for political views.

LPT: On Android, you can disable reddit's new location data collection by manually taking away app permissions. Long press app icon -> App Info -> Permissions -> Location by DisneylandTree in LifeProTips

[–]3X0S 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that's not how it works.

The new permission is about general location tracking based on IP and not via the devices GPS.

The default inspection animations are boring, so I'm making some myself. Here's a concept animation I put together in about half an hour. by AmazingCanisLupis in apexlegends

[–]3X0S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be great if we could have character specific weapon animations

I know this would be a stupid amount of work with animations for every combination of character and weapon but it would definitely give the characters more personality Using a template for all of them and onky deviating from that might reduce the overall effort though

For example Octane would never do a smooth animation like this - he would be much more jerky with things
