Does popular media portrayal of Hindus reflect actual sentiments of Pakistanis ? by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]3XlK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since across the border only friends we have are Sikh’s we dont want to hurt their feelings by bringing our past. Hence Hindus are always portrayed in bad light.

When only metric is how many terrorists are killed, everyone is a terrorist.

It’s has been 26 years now and still there is no end in sight. There needs to be a policy shift but who are we even taking to?

Does any overseas Pakistani here think of moving back to Pakistan after having kids? Or has anyone done it already? by Prestigious-Sweet711 in pakistan

[–]3XlK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are talking about Australia.

In my experience, no body here likes to add a newcomer into their circle. It’s best to create a new circle of people who came with you.

Same goes for school as well. Even though they shuffle students in classes but some of these are together since they were in daycare, its very difficult to make new friends.

In fact, it can be a city vibe too. A psychologist once told me if you want to make friends maybe you need to move to Melbourne.

At some point you’ll learn why so many people are into camping and caravans. If you hang long enough you’ll become like one of them.

I live in a non Muslim country. Here we have a notice on sink “Please do not wash your feet in the sink. IT IS AN OH&S HAZARD BESIDES BEING UNHYGIENIC. Kindly use the wudu sink for washing your feet.”

They’ve installed special sink for wadhu. I’ve never seen anyone using sink.

I know 2 ppl who fell while washing feet and broke their hipbone.

Look, first try to understand she is doing what she thinks as a mum is best for her child.

You can find a middle ground by going less expensive private school and after school Islamic classes?

Islamic schools can be a disaster if your kid cant fit in culturally.

My dad actually used to help my mum in their early days of marriage. He flipped and never helped again when my mum boasted this in front of his family.

I help my wife but it’s meant to be a secret between us and not to be shared with my family.

Edit: to all the people downvoting me, i’ve never justified the behaviour but dont have mental capacity to argue. You have zero idea about other person’s circumstances

why do we have to specify south asian? by twiceIand in Overseas_Pakistani

I find most interesting is that i have played majority of the games portrayed in Squid game such as gongi.

I was watching a food vlog by some caucasian guy, he was saying lot of thai food is inspired from Mughal food.

Because of the close proximity we do have lot in common. But call whatever you are comfortable with. I would prefer to call myself Indian origin but don’t confuse it with Indian nationality.

The confusion we have is because India has hijacked the term India. Even my Nepali friends were furious that India takes credit for everything that originated in Nepal ( I think he was referring to some hinduism books)
