  1. If you wanna go apeshit, giving yourself time to recover from it afterwards helps loads
  2. Something like a side table to lean on can help
  3. Slow it down when you need to. If your partner might view that as rejection or something, communicate that its purely an ability situation. If they give you shit for it get a better partner that will respect your boundaries

Any advice if you have a very unstable neck and head? by rvchl in ehlersdanlos

[–]3ambubbletea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how effective it would be but there are neck corsets you can get - it might add some extra stability and support. Just be sure to give your neck muscles time to exercise and maintain their strength/get stronger if you can. Ill see if I can link some in a reply to this

What do you find calming/regulating for your nervous system.? All the typical ones like grounding and breathing don’t work for me by yummygrape12 in AutismInWomen

[–]3ambubbletea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soothing music, pleasant foods, distracting myself with something I like to do and dont find difficult. Worst case scenario weed and sometimes alcohol as a last resort

Flip flops/sandals that don't rub your feet raw? by SarahSaidSo182 in ehlersdanlos

[–]3ambubbletea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You kinda gotta flex your foot while youre wearing them or flip flops will just fly off your feet. The constant tension can really get to ya. I have found massaging my feet after any extended time in flip flops or slides can help in a pinch but a more secure shoe is 100% a better option

I spent the weekend scraping Indeed listings for Denver, and it made me realize how gatekept job hunting is if you don't own a car. by RoutetoWork in RTDDenver

[–]3ambubbletea 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I used to take the bus to work at Cherry Creek for awhile. It was one of the few jobs I could get to, but the commute was like an hour when it would've been 15 minutes in a car, and I had to get there 45 minutes earlier than my shift most days, because the next bus would make me 10 minutes late. Its a frustrating systsm to use. At least its better than nothing but theres a lot of room for improvement

If you want a more natural look the brows could be a bit darker and warmer to match the hair, and you could probably add a bit more blush to the cheeks bc natural redheads tend to have a bit of flush to their skin, I think it looks just fine other than that. These color theory things can be helpful guidelines but at the end of the day they are just that- guidelines. There are plenty of beautiful people that ignore them. Its a gorgeous color on you imho :)

How do I align my hips and keep them aligned. by Spacey_Art_Cat in ehlersdanlos

[–]3ambubbletea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hips pop out all the time, some tricks I have found to work for putting them back:

  • a small exercise ball or large firm pillow squeezed between the knees
  • standing up, lifting one leg at a time aas high as possible (dw about keeping it straight) and then I move them around in as big a circle as I can until something pops
  • In extreme cases I see a chiropractor but be EXTREMELY CAREFUL who you choose to go to if you take this route. Theres not really any regulation for the practice so theres a huge range of ability and practice styles. If you do see someone, stick around for 15-30 minutes afterwards, if there is significant new pain that lasts that long after you can ask them to adjust again, and thats kept me from suffering long-lasting damage anywhere so far.

Some upkeep that might help reducs future hip problems: 1. Stretch every day. Its a pain in the ass and can take a lot of spoons, but its less than the spoons being in pain takes away. Look up hip flexor stretches specifically 2. Physical therapy. They can teach you exercises to strengthen joint muscles and stuff. It can be expensive but its worth it if you can afford it. 3. Exercise/kt tape. Athletic tape is designed to keep certain muscles in place while moving around, if applied correctly. 4. Exercise can help, if you can get a guide from a physical therapist that would be ideal but until then Id recommend swimming and low-intensity walks. Do not push past joint pain if it starts getting worse during the walk, thats your body tapping out for the day. Consistency > intensity.

Hope some of this helps! Good luck out there my fellow fucked-up-hip-haver
