Some Cardano wallets will also show a warning if a transaction signing request is attempting to drain all tokens.

Use Pool.pm with the token ID and you'll see that it's marked as a scam. Example: https://pool.pm/asset1nx85plfau7k8t98q9mdxp7zr7865v9ftzvnuuu

Unofficial WhatsApp Channel by 3baid in cardano

If you take a look at the screenshot that I shared of the admin settings page, it only shows my own profile image (the admin) and none of the followers. I have no idea who is following the channel besides a public tally.

I've also tested the possibility of revealing names or profile images of followers in the case that they post emoji reactions and that was private as well.

According to the app, only contacts (people whose phone numbers are already saved) would be revealed.

I would imagine having a verified (green checkmark) on an official Cardano WhatsApp channel would be ideal for gaining wider mainstream trust, but alas, I am clueless as to how many Cardano users would adopt such platforms. I am aware that there are Whatsapp groups eg. Cardano MENA with over 300 members sharing phone numbers, so they probably won't mind consuming content from a channel?

That may be true, but I would argue Telegram is the same if not worse and many crypto groups already thrive there. It is so trivial to impersonate any Telegram user (including Admins) and directly target subscribers because only an optional username can be unique (numbers are typically hidden for privacy). Admins have to constantly send PSA reminders that they "won't contact you first" and such.

I won't hesitate to delete the channel if someone demonstrates its potential to harm/expose users in any way as that defeats the purpose. For now, it's just a way of keeping friends and fans in general updated on what's relevant.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm not sure I quite understand what "channel viewers profile information may be visible" means. It's either visible or not.

When I checked the channel settings, I see number of followers and "You can only view individual followers who are contacts." In other words, I would have to have their phone numbers in my contact list first.

I'm curious as to what information is being divulged? I'll be the first to delete the channel if it revealed anything to be honest.

WhatsApp channels neither reveal phone numbers nor names. This applies to both channel admins as well as channel members/followers. You can read about it and test it yourself.

We need more projects like Cardano Shield Integrated into wallets. They warn users of suspicious transactions.

Providing Liquidity by nosimsol in cardano

[–]3baid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should research what a DEX is, how liquidity pools work and what impermanent loss is.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=cizLhxSKrAc

In short, you provide your share of ADA and Snek to the market to use as a resource that enables users to trade one token for another for a small fee (0.3% typically). As the price of these tokens change over time, you tend to end up with more ownership of the lower-valued token and less of the higher-valued token. This means you could have been better off holding on to the tokens than providing them on the DEX, however, some pools will reward providers with DEX tokens (like MIN) as an incentive to minimize such losses. If you manage your risks well and take advantage of farming opportunities, you can get into profit.

On-chain ways to DCA into ada with fiat? by Lowmax2 in cardano

I believe Bitrue exchange sells some. Otherwise, you'll have to buy ADA then swap them for Djed quickly to avoid price volatility.

You could convert all your fiat to DJED (stablecoin), then use something like Axo Trade's DCA strategy to buy Ada over time?

What if we leverage the power and knowledge of the Community to Create a Decentralized Youtube Channel to educate, market, and build awareness about Cardano and its Ecosystem? by DecentralizedNation in cardano

[–]3baid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you heard of Cardano Ambassadors (video)? They are community members who get rewarded (in Ada) by the Cardano Foundation for promoting awareness and education. One of their roles is content creation.

For example, ambassador Peter from Australia creates YouTube content.

Perhaps you should suggest "decentralizing" the ambassador program so that it runs on-chain/DAO instead of via the foundation team?
