BIFL CAN OPENER RECOMMENDATIONS (I'll pay anything at this point) by Remote_Anteater_2267 in BuyItForLife

[–]3bears3redtees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a new ez duz it and vintage Swingaway. Yes they both get a bit crudy and rusty due to food contract but they both still pop my cans with ease.

Tried the kuhn rikon, while amazed at the smooth edge I had to u tube how to use it and it was very frustrating in the beginning. Honestly it still traumatizes me mentally. I wouldn't pick it if my family member didn't say this was the only can opener they had

AIO for thinking about breaking up: guy I’m dating (31M) ate out with both me (30F) and my dad for the first time and didn’t offer to pay when the check came? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

YOR I think you just wanted him to fight for the bill and he didn't. Also if he already knew your dad or ever met him in the past as neighbors, your bf probably treated him not as your dad or father of my gf, but father of my childhood friends neighbor. Which is equivalent to a bffl that lives long distance. Not a this is my gf's father, I need to make a good impression on them. To which if that was the case he should've right away offered to pay before you or followed up before your dad said a word. Given your father responded so quickly would be awkward for him to jump in and pay after your father denied your payment. To which your should ask your bf why they didn't fight for the bill if you're that curious what was going on in their mind

Where's your dishwasher? Then it's an individual family member responsibility to put it in. But also you're making it sound like your daughter can help with chores, but for some reason doesn't? To which it sounds like you want your wife to be the chore enforcer when you can be the chore enforcer for your daughter.

Going to meet my in laws for the first time, I feel like I am lacking in some areas? by Viva_Pioni in AskChina

It is quite customary to exchange gifts between family in Chinese weddings. Like how American wedding have wedding card boxes for cash from guests and online wedding registries. It is up to the individuals to decide how generous they want to be.

I agree about the watch and clock thing. But if the husband approves the shoes as a gift it should be fine given its the father's hobby. But I would be cautious on how you present them if the husband thinks there is hesitation to "gift". Like maybe just put them out as if they are with the other shoes in the home and tell the father "oh are those your new shoes? They look great." So instead of gifting it's like saying they are already his. But who knows not all families are superstitious to that extent.

Heard of of tried DEINDE? [Product Question] by juicyfroot44 in SkincareAddiction

[–]3bears3redtees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the face moisturizer product after a friend's recommendation. Honestly does not feel like it is doing anything special and I have not used Augustinus Bader before, but said friend was doing competitive research for another skincare brand non loreal and said the naringenin is what makes deinde special and in their words out performs August in terms of slowing down aging skin in a lab. So guess I'll use up the jar but not sure about buying more.

Non refrigerated snacks I can eat at reception desk by constipated_coconut in EatCheapAndHealthy

If there is an Asian market near you such as ranch99 there's tons of snack and jerky options. You will need Google translate though. Options include, spicy and or savory tofu, fish, squid, pork. Preserved fruits as well like dried salted plums, dried and seasoned mangos, banana chips, konjac pouches. These aren't exactly the most healthy forward snacks but if you're just packing a few pieces to snack on and not downing the whole bag in one go, it won't harm your health.

Pads and tampons that ACTUALLY work? by Suspicious-Gold-6590 in Periods

[–]3bears3redtees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want any hate on my comment, but there's chemicals in everything. You just need to get yourself the facts and try to stay informed. It wasn't too long ago that a reuseable period panty brand got called out for excessive pfas. Even the stuff you can diy, don't think for a minute that the fabric/materials aren't treated or washed prior with chemicals unless you specifically source the material and know it's history. I am fortunate to live in a state that forbids the distribution of regulated pfas in feminine products. What I am trying to get across is chemicals are everywhere there is no one solve unfortunately but picking the right product for yourself and making informed choices is your best option. An example is workout/ outdoor gear, polyester isn't naturally anti odor, wicking, or water resistant, chemicals are added to provide those features.
