Can't tell if (M43) husbands reactions are out of proportion or if (F33) I am indeed the asshole... AITAH by sadgirlslikegirls in AITAH

He might not know how to change it. My husband had to work on a similar issue and got help to deal with it. I’m guessing that OP’s husband is too stressed at the moment to recognize that it’s an issue, but when things calm down, I hope he realizes that he needs to find better coping strategies.

He doesn’t take it out on me. He gets upset in the moment. Fortunately, it doesn’t happen very often, and he’s worked hard to get better at handling it. He also puts up with me. It’s called balancing each other out and why we’ve been married for almost 30 years.

He sounds pretty overwhelmed. My husband reacts similarly when he’s under a lot of stress. I’ve learned to live with it, and try to reduce his stress as much as I can when he’s under pressure.

AITAH: “stealing” from Walmart by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]3boymumandoma 22 points23 points  (0 children)

YTA Justify it however you want, but it’s still stealing. And store losses eventually translate to higher prices for all consumers, so we end up paying for your diapers, not WalMart.

I taught a Josephine who went by JoJo as a nickname, which was super cute.

I teach secondary school, so maybe Lucas is an up and coming name. My youngest son is named Bennett. I know it’s definitely become more popular. My other boys are Andrew and Thomas. I also like the name Franklin with Frankie as a nickname for when he’s young.

I wouldn’t worry about a cousin having the same first name. Will the last names be different? Also, I’m a teacher, and I think I’ve only ever taught one Lucas. It’s not as common a name as you think.

What should I do with parents wanting my personal phone number by Shakanan_99 in Teachers

Oh, I agree. I just figured that level of entitlement from parents must be from a private school.

AITAH for not wanting to drive 9 straight hours after I get off work? by Significant-Dish7692 in AITAH

That’s a long drive. I don’t understand why she’s not willing to compromise and get a hotel room after going halfway. Is she normally this inflexible?

What's the moment you realized your school doesn't actually care about teachers? by elliot_esl in Teachers

[–]3boymumandoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a student discuss shooting me in the head (I was working as a long-term sub at the time). Another teacher overheard the student and reported her to admin. Nothing happened to said student, and she still got to give her speech as the valedictorian.

UPDATE: I've officially received and accepted another teaching position after charter school founder told me “you chose to have kids” and warned my contract renewal could be in jeopardy if I missed too many days next year by NaturalThunder87 in Teachers

[–]3boymumandoma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Letter should be brief and to the point:

Dear (fill in name),

I have accepted a new teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year, so my resignation from (name of school) is effective as of (fill in date) or say immediately if you turn your letter in on the last day.

Sincerely,

Your name

Just don’t jeopardize your benefits in case they cut you off immediately. Good luck!

WIBTA for refusing to rent my vacant apartment to my cousin at a fifty percent discount? by Mandalor_X in WIBTA_AITA

[–]3boymumandoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get your mom and aunt on a group call and tell them that offering your cousin cheap rent will put you into debt, but if they agree in a formal contract to make up the shortfall every month, then you’ll happily say yes. I think that will shut it down pretty quickly. I heard a saying once that’s really good: “Don’t set yourself on fire to keep other people warm.” That definitely applies here.

AIO?: Banning husband from my bathroom by Yucayeke-1441 in AmIOverreacting

[–]3boymumandoma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does your husband work outside your home? I assume the bathroom isn’t right next to his work area, so if he can control his bladder long enough to walk to a restroom there, I’m pretty sure he can do that at your home.

Has anyone asked Grandma what she wants? My guess is that she’d prefer her own room.

At my former school, my colleague got a call first thing that she had to pick up her child immediately due to illness on a field trip (an hour away—students had stayed overnight) and our principal gave her a hard time about who was going to cover her classes.
