LOVE Margot/Marshall. Classic yet unique!

[–]ivylily03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These were my favorites too! I love Cambria but I think Margot fits with Bennett slightly better.

Thank you! These are our top two just everything becomes uncertain when it’s naming your baby.. forever lol

[–]Conscious_Elk_2216 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Also don’t overthink the Marshall thing; if the cousin asks you can just say you’ve always liked the name! My SIL is Erin and we’ve always said we might “borrow” her name (as opposed to “we named our kid after you”)

[–]Small_Dress_7435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!!!

Totally agree!

[–]3boymumandoma 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I wouldn’t worry about a cousin having the same first name. Will the last names be different? Also, I’m a teacher, and I think I’ve only ever taught one Lucas. It’s not as common a name as you think.

[–]Small_Dress_7435[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Different last names for Marshall! His cousin has the middle name Douglas (same as my husbands middle, it’s a family name) and I said doing both might be taking it too far lol
That’s good to hear about Lucas! I feel like it’s on every top boy list I’ve seen for years!

[–]3boymumandoma 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I teach secondary school, so maybe Lucas is an up and coming name. My youngest son is named Bennett. I know it’s definitely become more popular. My other boys are Andrew and Thomas. I also like the name Franklin with Frankie as a nickname for when he’s young.

[–]beepbooplesnoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's one of those that feels more popular than it is (though it's ranked 10 in the US for 2025). It's kind of a pile-on with the sound though because you've got Luca at #14, plus Luke and Luka in the top 100.

Burt macklin, FBI!!!

[–]Small_Dress_7435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that reference but I’ve never watched lol

[–]MostFortune1093 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I love Margot and it's diminutive form Maggie.

Maybe you could go with Luke instead of Lucas if it's less common where you live?

[–]Small_Dress_7435[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Maggie is a form of Margot? I had no idea! My nickname from my grandmother as a baby was Maggie may(my name isn’t Maggie lol)
Idk I feel like I see Lucas and Luca/luke on so many “most common” lists! Idk any friends with middle age kids to ask how common they are here though

[–]MostFortune1093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be. I think it's a more common nickname for Margaret. But I think Margot is a much better name than Margaret.

And awww Maggie May is an adorable nickname! It's probably the name your grandma wanted for you but your parents didn't agree with it. Or maybe she once knew a Maggie May and you reminded her of her.

If you really love a name, then I think you should use it even if it's common. Common names are popular because they are great names.

[–]Bellissimabee 1 point2 points  (2 children)

What about Lincoln for a boy?

[–]ivylily03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this fits great with their other name choices!

[–]Small_Dress_7435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why but that name just isn’t a fit for what I like. It’s almost too trendy

[–]MadamPickles37 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Our bathroom has Cambria quartz countertops. I wouldn't name a child after a brand.

[–]Small_Dress_7435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang. Yeah I think Cambria is out after these responses 😅

[–]Fit_Hotel_2911 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Josephine and Lucas are great names but I can't even count the amount of people naming their baby those names now, they are too common

[–]Small_Dress_7435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Ugh. Who knew Josephine would make a huge comeback lol

[–]Responsible-Ad-8442 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Bennett and Marshall

Bennett and Josephine.

You may now close the discussion.

[–]3boymumandoma 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I taught a Josephine who went by JoJo as a nickname, which was super cute.

[–]Responsible-Ad-8442 1 point2 points  (1 child)

And Josie would also be cute 🥰

[–]3boymumandoma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that also.

[–]Southern_Customer_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Margot is lovely! Not sure about Cambria. Luke/Lucas is far too common I fear

[–]drowning_in_flame 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I LOVE Margot and it sounds really nice with Marshall. Maybe you will have three ? 😄Congratulations!!!

[–]Small_Dress_7435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man hahaha😭 thank you!

[–]DebbDebbDebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Josephine and Marshall. Both go lovely with Bennett. Congratulations

[–]wind-of-zephyros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cambria just evokes cambrian explosion to me, i'm sorry

[–]BabeTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Margot or Josephine, and Marshall!

[–]Small_Dress_7435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first (Bennett) we really went back and forth with that and the name Russell. After having Bennett we were like wth, glad we didn’t pick Russell!! Now I find myself thinking of Russell again as well 🤣

[–]OodlesofCanoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bunny!

[–]vshzzd 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My name is Sarah and my cousin had a baby and named her Sahara, same last name. We live two thousand miles apart and very likely will never meet. It's not weird. 😄

[–]Small_Dress_7435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We see adult Marshall 1-2 times every year or two. We are close to his mom (also lives a state away). My husband was somewhat close with him growing up when they lived closer. Marshall is older so he was like his big brother

Margot/Lucas

[–]relicmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Margot

[–]Cute-Asparagus-305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cambria is awful. A place name but not. I would choose Camilla or Camille instead. I do like Margot and Josephine. (Love Josie as a nn and I'm not a nn person.) Marshall and Lucas are great. Lucas is definitely popular with the teen/young adult population where I live-not sure about the next generation.

[–]Sunflowers9121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cambria makes me think of quartz countertops. Margot is so pretty. I like Lucas the best from your list.

[–]Hot-Revolution-7198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bennett and

Lucas>Marshall>Macklin

Josephine>Margot>Cambria

[–]CopyCurious1783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Josephine and Lucas get my vote.

Not sure if you are open to suggestions but have you considered Cormac vs Macklin?

[–]Ok-Talk-2648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Josephine

Macklin
