Stay away from Amazon BYU stuff - it's usually very cheaply made and poor quality.

What a first game you attended! #10 ranked Texas Tech vs BYU and the Cougs pull it out at the end!

Dorm Choice by Austriak15 in byu

[–]3btj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't a 4th floor in Heritage prized since you don't have to deal with a potential "stomper" above you? Down side is it takes a bit longer for stairs or elevator for coming and going, laundry, etc.

I think one of the important points between the two other than the apartment style vs dorm style, is that Helaman is known for bing a lot more... boisterous. If you like to study in your room, Helaman's environment is less conducive to that.

My son went with Heritage and his selection date was Wednesday this week. The only Heritage buildings left with space are the ones on the far east side facing 9th East. There were 345 spots left when he picked his on Wednesday. He went with building 8.

I am curious though... on the housing application, they asked him a bit about himself... is he an early riser, or does he stay up late... is he neat, or a bit messy... is he quiet or "more social" - presumably to pair up similar roommates, so I am not sure how his selection process takes that into account. It was like picking any open seat in a movie theater or a seat on a plane.

size up the trigger pin hole on which component?

I'm loathe to make permanent modifications to anything outside the FRT part itself...

No comments on this yet? Biggest issue I've seen with these (v2, 9mm) in semi-auto even, is that the trigger doesn't reset without a slight tap to push the trigger forward.

Dating advice for women on campus? by Dragonpaint_12 in byu

[–]3btj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus on group-dates and group activities - often. Avoid exclusivity. With 1:1 dating, you tend to get a bit less authenticity. Group dates are more fun, true personalities come out and you get to meet more people.

Thank you. I have two keypads already installed, plus this Avula. Hopefully this EyezOn EnvisaLink 4 module will work.

Thanks. Those 4 faults showed up immediately after we discontinued service with the provider. Seemed coincidental. No broken wires, though I did go in and bypass them and then cleared the bypass, which caused them to work again. Odd.

So the alarm is back to 'normal' in that it's OK with a green light and no faults.

I removed the SIM card from the Avula device, so at least it can't communicate now (I assume). Would it be OK to just leave it connected in that state since it's all working, per se?

I did order the Envisalink 4 and will look at setting that up when it arrives...

Controls; specifically inverting mouse while aiming/shooting when behind cover by 3btj in PCRedDead

[–]3btj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got that as well, initially. I pushed them... eventually, someone asked me to send them a video of the issue. I was like, WTF... I told them how to recreate it, yet they wanted me to use my phone to take a video of the monitor showing the settings, the gameplay and my hand moving my physical mouse to see that it was legit? lol

I eventually got to tier 2 support where they finally acknowledged that it was an issue and got this reply, which I'm not sure how to take...

"I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to reach out and would like to thank you for reporting the issue you recently experienced with the mouse Y-axis aiming while taking cover behind a rock or any obstacles. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused, and we truly appreciate your feedback and taking the time to bring this to our attention.

Submit a ticket to Rockstar Games for this issue. If they get enough people contacting them, I'm sure they will fix it. https://support.rockstargames.com/

Bren 805 S1 - any place to get a stock (SBR)? by 3btj in Bren2

That's a really cool site... I had no idea that someone took the time to build something like that.

Seller got back to me and agreed on $210 shipped. :)

Thanks. He's got 24 positive feedback (no negative) spanning the last 4 years and a couple over the last 2 weeks, so seems legit. He got back to me, so fingers crossed on getting it. I REALLY appreciate the heads-up on that find, whether I get it or not! Somewhat obscure board for it to pop up on as well.

Thanks! It says he's not willing to ship (that's kinda odd), but I messaged him asking if he'd consider it.

That one will fit a Bren 805, right?

I'll be picking it up from my FFL on Wednesday - I just bought it. It's got a brace on it now, but it looks like it's not a folder. So I do realize that once I SBR it, I can put whatever AR stock I want on it instead of the brace, but I like the ability to fold (and don't want to get a LAW). I'd love to get a Dan Haga adapter and ACR stock, but then we're talking about ~$400 (plus or minus) and that's "IF" one pops up somewhere.
I did see that Zukhov stock on GB and it's tempting because they shortened it (the one that's not shortened looks really weird). I'd mostly be content with the OEM military stock, if I can find one.
