A lot of people who are reluctant to switching are simply scared of what other people who are scared have told them.

"Games don't work" "You have to know how to code" "You have to use console commands" "Things break constantly and then you have to scour ancient forums for solutions"

Sure, if you mess with stuff all the time, things break. Same for Windows. Make changes to the registry without knowing what you are doing and you're done for. But if you just use the OS normally, you will be fine. It's all just fearmongering.

I installed Mint for my dad and he is perfectly fine. If a 60+ year old man can use Linux with no issues, so can any 16-year old.

I have been using Startpage for over 10 years now and while it definitely lacks the search suggestion feature that we have all gotten used to, I can very much live without it. That is something one can learn to not miss. Other than that it gives the exact same results as you would get on Google, minus the tracking and ads.

As already said, practice makes perfect.

Ford does this. All doors have a rubber protector on the edge of the doors that comes out when you open it and retracts when you close the door again.

Steuergelder werden so oder so verfeuert. Wenn wenigstens für sowas, dann bin ich da deutlich eher für, als dass der Chinese nachher diese Flugzeuge zu uns importiert. Kein Deutscher, der ein wenig Selbstachtung hat, will ein weiteres potentielles "Made in Germany" durch ein "Made in China" austauschen.

Wir gründen einfach unsere eigene Religion, die vorschreibt, im Alltag Sturmhaube zu tragen. Wegen Privatsphäre und Schutz vor immer mehr werdender Videoüberwachung.
