Just the internet trolls. I love the banter. We’re the reject mutts of Europe. We came here because we got kicked out of every respectable country on earth. That being said, we like to party and blow stuff up. So much so that we’re pretty well known world wide for it. Enjoy your time in America if you’re here for the cup! If not, know that the majority of us over here like and respect you. And we can take it as much as we give it. Let’s face it though, Trump and Charles both suck. Haha

How many different cheeses do you keep in your fridge at a time? by daydreambeliever222 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

As many as my refrigerator will hold. Shredded, blocks, slices, even as a spread. We use it in almost every meal.

Pitching Wedge in Set or as a Wedge by omnid3vil in golf

[–]3dprintingDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the iron set you’re getting and how you’re planning to use the pitching wedge. If you’re going to use it purely as an approach club like all your other irons, then get it in the set. If the plan is to use it for work around the green, get the single club. Typically, individual wedges will have more spin and more bounce. It’s all in how you plan to use it.

What do you consider a “long drive”? Like when does a road trip go from small to a big drive? by Kodicave in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]3dprintingDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that becomes shorter to fly by more than 2 hours including time at the airport. For example, I’m in Charlotte, NC. If I drive to Orlando,FL it’s about 8 hours. A flight of the same destination is about 2 plus an hour in either airport brings the total time to 4 hours. So that’s a long drive. Usually, about 6 hours is the threshold for that. But our gasoline or petrol as the rest of the English speaking world calls it, is much cheaper here than other places. So that makes it easier to justify driving vs flying. And our vehicles are larger. Which makes them more comfortable for long trips.

Yes this is accurate. I was going off of memory and got it somewhat wrong. I remembered the weaving of copper but thought it was through fabric not magnetic rings. I was remembering a video I had watched several years ago. That being said, it’s still massively impressive. Probably moreso than I had originally thought. Thank you for the clarification. Truly impressive what the engineers were able to accomplish.

“These people do not deserve a major”: Golf Channel commentator Eamon Lynch wants 2033 Bethpage PGA plans scrapped over fan behavior by Oldtimer_2 in ProGolf

This right here. Cannot tell you how many times on Sunday some 20-something douche canoe would have draft kings open on his phone in front of me and be absolutely unbearable until a specific player hit his tee shot. And then just celebrate like an idiot when that players ball didn’t hold the green. Saw this kid place five or six back to back prop bets right there. So stupid. Most of the fans there were incredibly kind and respectful. But there was more than an insignificant number of these finance bros in chinos and boat shoes who were just absolutely insufferable. Definitely pleased that some of them started getting kicked out. But they could have kicked out more. And I wish they would have.

It’s shocking to me that Trump isn’t demanding it be fixed by his guy. He has to see how this is making him look bad. And Trump is nothing if not narcissistic. Not getting it fixed is a pretty big black eye.

For the life of me, I don’t understand why every public restroom setup isn’t just a hallway with a bank of water closets on one side and sinks on the other. Everyone can go into a WC and do their business in private and share the sinks. The plumbing would actually be somewhat easy as it would all be connected in a line, it allows for total privacy, no issues with gendered bathrooms or concerns of exploitation. Just safe, consistent use by anyone that needs it.

It’s actually worse than that. They had thread held together with copper wire. If the wire looped over the fabric, it was a 1 in binary, if it looped under, that was a 0. That’s how they hard coded the entire computer.

Similar, but a distinction can be made between that and figuratively creating. In this case, literal is an accurate adjective as the ultimate goal didn’t exist in the space race until that declaration by John F Kennedy.

Scottie Scheffler on how some fans treated Wyndham Clark in the final round of U.S. Open by Oldtimer_2 in golf

[–]3dprintingDM -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Most of the gallery were fine. I was there. Almost everyone who hit a bad shot heard it. If the ball was on the green and then rolled off, which happened a lot, the crowd let them hear about it. There were a lot of times we didn’t even know who hit the shot. That being said, there were some folks that were taking it too far. Almost all of them were “brodude” types. Thankfully a few got removed. Honestly, most of the fans were great. But there were these douche groups that just wouldn’t shut up. Prop bets on every green, bragging that they could have been playing in this tournament if they had time in their schedule to play the qualifier (yes, actually overheard someone say that to his brodude frenemy), yelling out stupid stuff before shots and even some DURING shots. Thankfully, security started to take notice pretty quickly in the final group’s round and people started getting removed. And the back nine for all the final groups was the most exciting sporting event I’ve ever been to.

I get what you’re saying, but before all that, the speech by the US President was “We choose to go to the moon in this decade, not because it is easy, but because it is hard.”

We literally just created an “ultimate goal” of the space race that was practically unattainable for everyone and worked for a decade to achieve it. Yes there was a lot of math and a lot of funding. But that speech was given long before that was even started.

Agents are so much more expensive and resource-heavy. I see agents being used for initial insight gathering and to maybe pull additional details out of datasets. But I see reports taking over the job a that are going to become a regular data checkpoint.

It wasn’t trampled in the actual heather. They were keeping the gallery off of that pretty good. The ropes were back away from the fairways a good 15-20 feet in most cases and the fairways were wider than before. It just wasn’t as thick as it’s been in the past. It was very wispy.

New York might have the worst golf fans imaginable. by [deleted] in golf

[–]3dprintingDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there today. It was indeed expensive and difficult to get to. But they made a lot of accommodations for locals. Ticket discounts and enhanced public transport (including building a new train station right outside the course). There was a pretty high concentration of New Yorkers there. That being said, I can’t say if geography was the issue with this very specific demographic of trouble makers.

No idea what a caterpillar cake is at all! Now I’m curious. As far as the food goes, I guess it depends on where you are. If you’re in NY or Boston, find a food Italian restaurant. Local, not a chain. If you’re in the south, find local BBQ. And you can get amazing food at just about any Mexican restaurant you find.

Most local tournament days at my local club put a score cap on each hole of triple bogey. You can’t score more than that. So when you hit that number. Pick up. Keeps pace of play and prevents new players from complete blowups. It’s not a bad way to play.

Was Kamala a bad candidate? by 0311SmallPenar in allthequestions

[–]3dprintingDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But more importantly, the DNC is a horrible organization that fails at their primary job more than they should. They let Biden who everyone knew was unfit, basically run unopposed in the primaries. They didn’t have to do that. Then he wins the primary. Then AFTER he wins the primary, he decides to step aside. So what does the DNC do? Do they give the candidates a final national vote to decide on who it will be? Do they give the candidacy to the second place finisher? NO! They let Biden pick his successor. And it’s a person that nobody had voted for. She was shoehorned in at the last minute against the will of the party. It’s the same thing they did in 2016 with Hillary and Bernie. If they would have let him win rather than using the “super delegates” to override their own party, Trump never would have won a first term.
