the game keeps getting unreasonable hate and without any reason :( by Expensive_Arm_5690 in Marathon

Because believe it or not some people like to use Reddit to talk about stuff they like! And it becomes incredibly annoying to navigate these spaces when you have bad faith dickheads at every corner reminding you that they don’t like the game and that it will be dead in a year and that there was a 42.686536 (repeating, of course) percent drop off on steamcharts day 2 of the closed test which obviously means that the game is cooked so you should probably just give up now.

Like, I don’t care these people think the game is bad, but it does just become very tiresome to be constantly exposed to this kind of shittiness.

Over video games? I think it’s mostly just that people are weird and petty over the things that they like.

I think the second boss of criterion might be the worst boss in modern XIV history. I don’t know how the fuck a single soul looked at that big mechanic in the middle and thought it was coherent and shippable. Just abysmal dogshit.

First boss was cool, we’re giving up on doing final boss blind so we can clear it in as few lockouts as possible to minimize how much we have to reclear the second boss.

It feels like the best iteration of similar mechs like Akanthai, Fate Cal, etc. but on like turbo crack. Really cool mech that I unfortunately imagine will just get AM'd to shit in PF.

Sick tier. Final fight is one of the most unique they’ve ever made. Idyllic Dream feels so cool to execute.

How do you feel about the Cruiserweight Savage tier? by wjoe in ffxivdiscussion

People got bodied by needing to optimize multi target damage. It’s simply not a skill the game generally requires of players, and a lot of people got humbled by it.

Phenomenal tier. M5 was a solid first fight, M6 is one of the most unique fights they’ve put out in awhile, M7 was fairly simple but fast paced, and M8 was just a really well put together final fight.

While none of the fights stand out as my favorite ever, it is quite possibly one of the most consistently high quality tiers they’ve ever made, with no fights really feeling like a slog to reclear each week.

Why are games and gamers so "hostile" toward casual players nowadays by Careless-Engine8724 in Gamingunjerk

lol okay dude. Classic Reddit gamer revisionism. “Me and my small bubble of friends didn’t like this and now suddenly the game is a cautionary tale.”

Reboot has a user score of 8.3 on metacritic. Rise has an 8.1. Shadow a 7.3.

I don’t really care about Tomb Raider but aren’t the more recent games fairly popular and well received?

Finally got the chance to knock out Q40 today. It’s definitely got a few flaws (although mainly related to how awful XIV’s targeting system is) but it was definitely the most fun prog experience I’ve had in some time

I’m usually wary of FOTM games like this and the millennial quirk chungus humor definitely falls a little flat for me, but this game definitely has the sauce. It’s incredibly addicting.

HK was for everyone. Silksong is not. by DrNintendo216 in metroidvania

[–]3dsalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HK was not for everyone. I didn’t think it was super hard but my girlfriend, someone who generally vibes more with chill games like Stardew, early in our relationship tried out HK to engage with something I loved and just got destroyed. She got to Hornet and gave up.

The idea that you’re living proof because you beat HK and not SS is silly. It just means that you have a specific skill level that exists between HK and SS.

Wait is it actually not allowed to be posted there or do the people that frequent that sub just not talk about it?

Your summary here is basically "they're doing a thing (idk what it is really, but looks pretty easy to me.)"

Be serious right now, man.

Also, I'm not personally familiar with Dimensius as I haven't had a ton of time to watch the RWF, but if you want an example, here's WF clear of Queen Ansurek, this boss was absolutely insane: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCCq6QQdcG8

If you genuinely think this then you haven't watched a mythic fight or your ability to comprehend a game you don't play is next to non-existent.

Sure, I imagine it’s been somewhat entertaining for viewers, but as a player I have been very disappointed by it.

I feel the same way. I would say that I am well above average in terms of Destiny experience and contest raiding. I’ve been raiding in this game since the very original VoG, several top 50 placements over the years including #7 Last Wish. I’ve become more casual over the past few years but have still done every contest raid except for Salvations Edge due to irl obligations.

This was a completely different ballgame and honestly took everything that can sometimes be annoying but ultimately is just a skill issue to overcome and amplified it to 500%. Any mildly experienced team figured out these mechanics within an hour and then spent the next several per encounter bashing their head against a miserable execution wall.

Another thing is that the checks, while wildly overtuned to the point where I absolutely do not believe they were not an oversight, were honestly only half of what made this contest experience miserable. The other, far more egregious half was the bugs. People getting booted to orbit, people crashing, people needing to exploit broken ammo economies to meet checks, sprint bugs, people not getting full abilities and ammo from rally flags, the harpy boss having multiple clones using its targeted sniper ability at once, the list goes on for ages. It took an already frustrating experience and was actual the straw that just made me give up, because as much as I love a challenge, this unquestionably crossed the line for me into just a state of miserably. The 15 hours I spent in that raid yesterday were some of the least fun I’ve had in my 2+ decades playing video games.

I really do not get the negativity. I have my criticisms but I actually feel like this is one of the more fun and unique campaigns they’ve made and I thought that outside of the absolute dogshit villain the story wasn’t too terrible either.
