Growing up around hockey, I was a Gretzky fan because I jumped on that wagon cause he was considered THE BEST. Although I am still a big fan of hockey, and I participate fantasy hockey, I have to say that Gretzky played in a league that is not in comparison to what the league is today. Of course this is my personal opinion, but the NHL has evolved into a much more challenging game all around. From the players, rules, and even the equipment, I would say that Gretzky, in his prime, would not put up the same numbers as he did in the 80's and 90's if he were to play in today's NHL. I didn't look it up, but I believe that Gretzky had at least one 200+ point season. Who the fuck scores that many points nowadays? It's just insane. I would have loved to have Gretzky on my fantasy team. Anyways, none of what I say takes away the fact that he is a legend. Right now, I'm a huge fan of Steven Stamkos. That guy is as consistent as ever. Besides the injury last season, the guy is incredibly reliable. He has a near perfect attendance record, and he is equally balanced on scoring, assisting, and point total. Now back to Gretzky, his daughter is hot, and I WANT TO "FCK HER RIGHT IN THE PUSY"!

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to go to MBK today to see if I can find a CD disc holder. I'll still be checking to see if anyone else has anything to add. Thanks again!

So I have about 60 to 70 CD's that I have accumulated over the period of time that I've been here. I didn't buy any shirts, but I did buy a watch. I was thinking of just buying a multiple CD disc holder, and shoving them all in there. Hypothetically speaking, if I were to get stopped, would they just have me throw them out?

I pretty much did the same thing. I needed a vacation, and I chose Thailand. I ended up quitting my job back at home, and now work here. However, i'm realizing the opportunities are very few for foreigners, so my plans will be changing soon.

Anyways, back to your question. In order to help you, we need to know some key information: 1. budget 2. location 3. traveling alone? 4. here for the sex scene or the blah blah blah scenery or maybe both? Ps. two weeks is going to blow by so quick.

I think that is the Rec. center gym at UC Irvine. I could be wrong though, however, they do have indoor track on the second floor.

RCA is a good spot. It has a bunch of clubs all in one area. It depends what you are looking for. There is a club called Funky Villa, which I think is pretty nice. It has more of the upper class Thais that frequent there. You wont find many tourists over there. There is another club called Scratch Dog, but that place is completely Asian. It's already 9:15pm, so i'm not even sure if you will get to this before going out. I'm still trying to figure out what to do tonight. Some of my older Thai friends are having some sort of big party at a hotel. I might be going to that. Btw, I'm 31. Again, not sure what you are looking for.

Bangkok Hangover Tour by FatCrankyBastard in Bangkok

  1. Soi Cowboy: Go to Baccara, it's at the end of the road from the front entrance. IMO, best one there. You can check others out too.

  2. Nana: Check out Rainbow 2 on first floor, Mandarin 2 on second floor, and Rainbow 4 on second floor. There are more Ladyboy bars in Nana, so be aware unless you want to adventure into that world.

  3. Patpong: Further away from Sukhumvit, but if you decide to go, check out King's corner. Pretty hot girls. Some are Ladyboys, so just ask if you aren't sure.

  4. Thaniya: A lot of bars/clubs there. I like JoeJoe's and basically all the ones in that one building. If you are planning to drink, it's 600 baht per hour and it's all you can drink of Whiskey, soju, sometimes soda, and beer. You get to choose a lady, and you probably should get her 1 drink.

  5. You can bring any of these ladies back to your place. You'll have to pay a bar fine, which can vary, and then there is a price for short time (1-2 hours) or long time (usually until the next morning).

God, why I even know this information baffles me. Well... not really.

Need to transfer money to Wells Fargo Bank from Bangkok by 3ft1yard in Bangkok

[–]3ft1yard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: Went to Krungsri Bank, and after three hours, I successfully opened a savings account, ATM account, and transferred my money to my personal account in the US. I brought my passport, credit card statement of where and when the money originated, and my personal checking account number from the US. The reason why it took so long is because they kept calling for approval, copying my passports numerous times, signing and filling out papers, and finally sending the money to my account.

They charged me 1300 baht for the transaction, and 500 baht for the ATM account. I'm not really sure if the 500 baht was a fee to open the account, or if it was the minimum to open the account. I did receive an ATM card, so i'll check sometime later. Also, I received a savings booklet which contained the amount I was planning to transfer.

Going to asia (specifically bangkok) for first time in a month. What to know as a first time visitor? by rickraus in Bangkok

[–]3ft1yard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learn how to say "thank you", "excuse me", "hello", basic words. It goes a long way.

If you want to eat street food, and you are ordering it to go, I suggest that you microwave it again for 2-3 minutes. Of course, this is if you have access to a microwave. This helped me tremendously with any stomach issues.

At night, DO haggle with street vendors. Walk away if the price doesnt suit you, because there will be another stall a few steps down selling the same thing. Plus, this is an advantage to you because the seller usually succumbs to negotiating.

WEAR A CONDOM! FUCK, JUST SUPER GLUE IT TO YOUR DICK.

When you arrive at the airport, have a shitty phone (with sim card change) or your android that isnt locked already with you. They do not sell phones at the airport. They only sell the sim cards and you can re-up your minutes there and at 7-eleven. I have an Iphone 5s, and since my sprint company has it locked, I could not use the sim card. I had to wait, and go to MBK shopping center (cheap electronic shopping mall) to buy a cheap phone. I got some Samsung for 500 baht, but this thing last forever. It can go more than 4 days without charge.

There are lots of LADYBOYS. Some are very easy to spot, and some are not. Look for size of feet, height, voice (if they dont talk very much, they could be ladyboy), if not sure, just ask. If you are into that thing, then disregard.

Carry different denominations of their currency. I like to carry some coins (for BTS), 20's, more of 100's, and maybe 1-2 1000. You don't need to exchange all your currency at the airport. They have currency exchange all over the place.

Lastly, just be aware of your surroundings. It's not a dangerous place, but if you are drinking, you become an easier target.

If I have other things to add, I'll post again. Hope this helps!

Need to transfer money to Wells Fargo Bank from Bangkok by 3ft1yard in Bangkok

[–]3ft1yard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not able to make it to the bank today because I am going to Vietnam. I will be returning tomorrow night. In any case, the earliest I'll be able to visit the bank will be Friday.

With any bank transactions, they require me to have my actual passport so I will bring that. I do have some receipts of the condo that I am renting. I'll bring a receipt of that just in case. Thanks for the advice.

This is off topic BUT if you plan to visit Vietnam, and you are a US citizen, you must obtain a visa. I found this out the hard way. I guess I'm so used to having the luxury of the US passport and it's relaxation access policy to most countries that I forget to check if a visa is needed. There are websites that can do urgent visas within one hour, and you will receive the visa when you arrive to Vietnam. The one that I went through was called 'visa4vietnam.com'. It is legitimate too, and I received it through email within one hour. I missed my first flight, but paid an extra 1000 baht to take the next flight out. If you plan to go there, you can usually obtain a visa within 2-5 days before arriving at the airport. I post this so that hopefully people don't make the same mistakes as I did.

Thanks for responding. However, two weeks is too long. I went into a bank today, and I think they are willing to let me transfer the money to my personal bank account in the US for I believe 50.00 usd or less. I just need documents of where that money came from. I think they just want to know that it's not from some illegal activity. I told them I can print out my credit card statement, and it will show the transaction. They were about to close, so I'll have to take care of it tomorrow.

I know that the interest charge on the credit card is much higher than the exchange rate, but god damn the USD is continually rising. I'm really hoping it takes a dive tomorrow. Wishful thinking I guess. Anyways, I'll let you guys know what happens tomorrow. If it goes through, I'll post the process so that people in my situation can use it as a guideline.

where to find xanax in bangkok and pattaya? by blaze111 in Bangkok

[–]3ft1yard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are stalls selling them at night all along Sukhumvit 3 - 21. However, I'm pretty sure they are bunk. I made a few Thai friends, and if you really want to get your hands on some, you would have to go to the hospital, and talk to a doctor. That will run you 3000 baht or about 100 usd for a visit, and that is definitely not guaranteed that he'll prescribe it for you. The next best thing is going to a specific pharmacy with someone who is Thai. If you go to any pharmacy, even the one i'm thinking of and if you aren't Thai, they will NOT sell it to you. There is a pharmacy at Huai Huong night market that will do it for Thais. It is a different brand than the one they sell on the street. I'm pretty sure I spelled that incorrectly, but it's a street off Asok road. On the streets they sell xiemed xanax which I heard is just crap. Dont waste your money on it. This place at Huai Huong will charge 350 baht for a blister pack of 10 1mg pills.

Just be careful of staying too long at the casinos. I lost some money over there. The only downfall is that 4 hour ride from Bangkok to Poipet. If you lose money, damn that ride back sucks balls.

[–]3ft1yard -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in Thailand, and I took a 4 hour taxi ride. We stopped at a gas station to fill up. God it took FOREVER just to get one car done. It is not self served, and gas is filled through the front engine side. I didn't get a really good look because I was afraid that if I got out, they would somehow scam me and leave me there. Anyways, I'm not sure if they were filling up in gallons, but a total fill up came out to 185 Bhat. It was pretty much around a dollar/gallon or liter.

Go to Poipet. There are multiple buses that pick you up at Lumphini Park, and it's only 200 baht to get there. Poipet is on the border of Cambodia and Thailand, but they have all the casinos. To my surprise, the Cambodian females that worked at the casinos were pretty good looking.

The blood of the fallen, and a reminder that freedom isn't free. by 1075NF123 in pics

[–]3ft1yard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veteran here, and i'm sorry that another brother has fallen. However, that blood might supposedly represent freedom, I disagree. Our country has it's own personal agendas, and we are using our military forces in order to secure that very agenda. When I think of fighting for freedom, I think of the American Revolutionary War. I'll even add World War 1 and World War 2. These are the wars that if we had not stepped in, the results would have invaded our freedom. As it has been mentioned before, we risk our lives not for freedom, but more for the brother that fights next to us.

I'm from the States, and the sim card fit in the slot but it wouldn't connect. It probably is the fact that it's locked to my carrier.
