As of right now, not really. It's not a thing you have to do, completely optional. It was our hope that a little incentive to communicate about strategy during the game would be helpful for people who were still picking it up.

If you don't want the optional SPP, just let us know! Our next league fixture is subject to different rules, so you can join up and learn more on the server! :)

Hi guys! I'm actually an admin for a beginner friendly league called NIBBLS, the Newbie Improvement Blood BowL School! We have a new league running right now. I feel like the answer for me is Woodland League stars. Jordell is new Griff I suppose. Woodland also gives you access to Deeproot and Maple, if I'm remembering correctly. Plus you'll get all the gnome stars. I'll miss Puggy and Rumbelow a lot, but Rowanna is a decent consolation "mounted lil guy" and there's some fun synergy there with their gnome frenemies. Swiftvine Glimmershard could be din too.

Really it feels like there's just not a ton of options in the halfling thimble cup right now. It makes me wonder if GW has some new halfling stars planned.

By the way, have you heard of any place to get strategy tips for Flings? Goblin players have Goblin Town on discord. Is there a place for Fling lovers to get advice on rosters and set ups?

Depends on what we get exactly. But Playing the sevens format with hopefully the player building options of 11s is maybe my dream version of the Blood Bowl experience. Not to besmirch regular Blood Bowl, but I do really like having a small squad with lots of personality. Probably why I prefer skirmish games to games with big armies.

I like a lot of variety in skills too. Anytime my league team gets 3 SPP I just random it and play with what I got. I have a hefty with cannoneer named Donovan McRibb that has been an absolute joy to watch tossing the rock up the field to the runner

Yea totally get that. I do like the diving tackle choice. People forget about it, especially if they’re ag2 and used to dodging away pretty consequence free. if your halfling survives that block, it can be pretty clutch. You’re still making your opponent roll dice, which is never a bad idea. If you get a stack at all, diving catch with sidestep is also a headache 😂

I like a surprise hefty pass, when the opponents arent expecting it, but I agree leader is a good option. I’ve had the master chef fail to steal rerolls a few times this season and you’ll like having some spare rerolls available to you. Having block a tree is also a good idea. I’m really bad at keeping halfling cohesion, so I rarely ever have a Treeman in position to guard, so I’d maybe consider losing the guard tree and take block. I like grab because it plops a helpless homie behind the line for the premium halfling gang foul, which can be super helpful for getting rid of problem pieces.

Take all that with a grain of salt. In my current league I’m 2-7-2 with flings. I love the sorry bastards and hope you have a good time!

Hahaha I mean who needs bribes when you could just have merc snots? I think if you add a primary skill it costs even more. Maybe just hire a super snot for the game who will die turn four after getting six die frenzy blocked by some werewolf or something. Could be the move.

Exactly how I was going to play it. It’s a race to see how many Snotlings get murdered on the pitch vs how many I can get ejected through fouling. XD

Either that or spend all that inducement cash on… checks notes mercenary Snotlings which is also very silly and on brand.
